i know this will come as a shock to many of you but my son and I had a very enjoyable trip/experience in Auburn, except for the game. We were welcomed by everyone, invited in to multiple tailgates, experienced no trash talk or taunting and, while weird, we even enjoyed the post game "celebration" at Toomer's Corner. Both before and after the game, in whatever bar or restaurant we were in, we all had something in common. Everyone was happy with the Bama loss.

Maybe I'm mellowing in my old age but the Auburn folks were nice, even if they don't realize they are Eagles and not Tigers!

Auburn has the nicest fans of any school I've encountered in the SEC. People always say they're awful, but maybe those people haven't been recently.

And I've been to a lot of games between LSU/Auburn over there.

Nicest fans by far, and I don't think it's close.

Is Bodega's still there? Nice talent last time I made it that way.

I've been every time since 2004. They are my favorite fanbase. Most of those on campus on Gameday are alumni or family of alumni. There's a few bad apples but all in all a good trip each time.

They were a little chippy in 2010 with Cam, but it wasn't terrible.

Yeah, but even then it wasn't too bad at all.

And it's a great town.

Went in 08 and 10 and had a blast both times.

Great fans, good food, fun bars and excellent game day atmosphere. Pretty much all you could ask for in a road trip

I live in Alabama and made my first trip down to "The Plains" with my nine year old grandson who is an Auburn fan (his dad is an AU alum). He was wearing an Auburn cap for his dad and a LSU jersey for me. Folks were great to him but after the game got underway, I have never heard as much profanity since my years in the Navy. It was endless and classless. We were sitting 10 rows up right behind LSU's bench and they spewed filth the entire game. They cursed Quinn for 5 minutes after the targeting call, like he caused it rather than being the target. No class!!!!

Not to trash us or defend them, but have you been to a game in Tiger Stadium?

(I'm sure you have, but my point is relative to the profanity)

I think they must have a campaign to "be nice to the visitors" because people go out of their way (and by saying some of the same things) to welcome you to Auburn.

Sometimes it comes off fake, but it's better than some of my other away experiences.

I've been a bunch of times and have a good time, win or lose.
