2003 2007 and 2011 spoiled us. We think we deserve 10 wins for just being LSU. Years of early exits to the NFL has caught up finally. The last 2 seasons hurt more than R Perriloux and Z Lee. We have no one to lead these young guys. For like the last 15 seasons, we had a handful of freshman seeing playing time. Learning a little bit from playing, but more importantly, getting taught by upperclassmen. These guys now are young, but there are not many players they can turn too. It is kind of learn as you go. I was upset, but then i realized, hey lets learn how to be fans in tough times just like these players(from a great rec class) are. Im not ready to fire Les, chavis, or cameron. In 2-1/2 years, if these guys are not killing it, ill be back to post about coaching changes.

O line is not young, DEs are not young, RBs have 2 seniors, all DBs are not young except Adams.

I mean it sucks. I can't believe how badly the OLine is playing, but we are having a down year. It happens sometimes. It just to happens Auburn, Ole Miss, and Miss St are up this year.

I think many expected a down year

But we also expected the team to be competitive

In the 2 SEC losses we've gotten gashed. The offensive struggles are understandable given the QB situation. There is no acceptable excuse for the defense IMO

Forget about trying to reach some of these Chicken Littles on this board. But what you're saying here makes plenty of sense. As they showed last night, we have played TWENTY FRESHMEN this season (Only Tennessee has played more). You ain't winnin' a lot of SEC games if you're doing that. We'll be fine. But our young guys are going to have to get their experience this season. And actually, our OLine played better last night than they did against MSU. They were opening up running lanes with no problem........................until we went away from that strategy. Additionally, they did a good job of maintaining the pocket for Harris.................until he decided to leave it for no sane reason on a number of occasions.

We lost that game in the first 3 drives. All 2nd down mistakes. First drive on first 7 yards off left tackle. Second down Fumbled snap. Lost 4. 3rd down and 7 ran it, punt. Then Field Goal AU. Second drive HB Dive for 8 yds. second down Airmiled pass. 3rd down crap pitch, punt. AU TD. 3rd drive 9 yd run of tackle. 2nd down miscommication with RB, 3rd down crap run. punt, AU TD. 17-0 after 3 drives where you faced a 2nd and 3,2, and 1. That was my problem with the coaching. That game was over with 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

he means on the field man. team dynamics. guess you had to be a part of one to understand. it seemed to me, although it's tough to observe on television, that no one was helping harris to calm down. maybe one of our veteran OL guys should step up and help the kid. he looked very frightened out there. zero confidence. after we scored our lone TD it seemed he unraveled. i'll bet miles and cam wanted to pull him at that time, but that could be a huge blow to his confidence so he finally "sprained" his ankle and allowed them to yank him.

hopefully, he'll grow some hair and learn to calm down.

Hold on, buddy. Every single person on this board knows that giving Miles credit and/or blame for on-field results is Joe Negatiger's worst nightmare. Once we actually do that, you idiots will be forced into a corner out of which you can escape only by concluding mathematically that Miles is the best e'er to walk the sidelines full time in Baton Rouge.

I don't mean to give my enemies pointers, but that's definitely not the direction you'll want to go with your insanely stupid opinions of my alma mater's football coach.

Coaches are supposed to coach up young guys. Youth and inexperience are not acceptable excuses, especially when the head coach makes $4.25 million and when LSU spends the kind of money it does on the football program. It would be OK if this team is competitive. This team is not competitive right now.

How can you honestly defend what we've seen on the field so far?

I mean seriously. I used to back Miles as much as I could but I can't any longer.

I've met him, he's a great guy and all that but you have to put that somewhere and see how he does during the game. He has one game plan and won't deviate from it.

And it's not all on him, btw. The entire staff is responsible.

We've been gashed in our only 2 conference games.

And I don't buy the "we don't have the talent'' nonsense. That's what the coaches are there for also. We had an amazing recruiting class. Mold and get these kids ready for collegiate football.

Every team loses players to the NFL, who's responsible for replacing those that leave? Right, the coach(es). These guys don't just disappear, they speak to the coaching staff, let them know they're thinking about going pro, etc..... the staff has to replace, that's part of being a coach.
