However, I somewhat agree with him. When we knew it was an epidemic, and given Ebola's history of burning out quickly when contained locally, all flights into the hot zone that weren't essential needed to be scrubbed, and anyone trying to get out needed to be quarantined for the 21 days incubation period or blood tested to be assured of no infection.

I don't even know if there is a way to test a blood sample for the virus, or if it's only an antibody test that requires a period of infection before the antibodies are apparent, but allowing free travel to and from is not the way to contain a potentially global epidemic.
