Saints win b/c of new overtime rules. Overtime rules still suck.

Just thought I'd dig that one back up since people said 2 weeks ago that the only people whining about it were whining because Peyton Manning was the victim.

My team was a direct beneficiary of the rules and I still think it's stupid.

Anybody who is familiar with the Saints secondary knows that the Saints caught a break with Tampa Bay not getting the football one more time.

Ties aren't as awful as people seem to think they are

I don't mind it. I'd rather we go back to ties, though.

Is defense not part of the game?

I think NFL has perfect OT rules. College sucks.

the Saints scored a TD

the Favre rule had nothing to do with them winning

I'm not a huge fan of the CFB rule either, where the game basically devolves into the football equivalent of a 3 point shooting contest.

Either suck it up and deal with games ending in ties OR make the players suck it up and play an extra full quarter.

if your defense cant even hold the other team to a field goal in an overtime drive, you dont deserve to win

they would have won under the old OT rules too

It is prejudicial in favor of teams like the Saints with (theoretically) great offenses that score lots of touchdowns and have shitty defenses.

The only reason they lost the Falcons OT game was because they beat themselves with Colston's TO.

If your defense steps up it doesn't matter. I don't see the problem with it.

I said it last time. I'll say it again.

It's like saying a baseball game is over in the top of the 10th if the visitors hit a home run.
