If LSU, with the help of Brandon Harris, can reduce by 50% the number of 3 and outs and still not turn the ball over, this team will be drastically different in every way.

Right now, if I am not mistaken, LSU is ahead of only Vandy in the number of three and outs. This places tremendous pressure on an already thin defensive front 7.

I think our best defense, akin to last year as well, is an offense that can sustain drives and run the clock.

That is a huge burden to place on Harris at this stage in his career, but I think it is a burden he can sustain.

At the least Harris can be a threat to complete the underneath passes and will make the offense hum. Jennings had his moments with the long ball but was just not good at touch passes/screens etc.

If Harris comes out like he did in Houston we done.

Harris is all about gettin in the end zone. The only thing we need to sustain is the lead.

If we get 1 first down on either of the first two drives ... I will be very happy.

Looking forward to this game more than the Bama game, ultimately.

May y'all destroy them and strike sadness into their very hearts for believing this game was worth showing up to.

That was a lifetime ago for him I am willing to bet. Since that time he has had tremendous success. He knows he almost beat State by himself.

He will be fine (relatively speaking for a freshman starting on the road in the SEC). To that point, these QBs are much more ready for this type of pressure based on their high school and all-star camp experiences as well as in view of Harris' private coach experiences as well.

He is not your typical wide-eyed freshman IMO.

Harris didn't have a single pass attempt in that game.

He was in for three plays.

I feel the exact same way and we need to leave our play makers in the game. Adams, Beckwith need to stay in the game, I would really like to see Paris and his skills vs the run and pass. He might be a better option than one of the other safeties on any given down? Need to rotate these Dlinman, whether they think they ready or not, they need to be given the chance to make plays on game day. They may be different in games but you won't know that until they are given the chance. And please please create match up advantages on offense and throw the ball around on any given down. None of that pass pass run. Stop being so predictable and spread the d out some. Use 3 wide with one TE and other formations from this personnel. Use our backs, FBs, TEs, in the passing game this will confuse thier D and get the whole offense rolling!!! I think if the O gets rolling that the D will play much much much better including the Dline. It can absolutely make a difference!!! Hope we see some change on the offensive scheme, we can still run the ball and do not have to use shotgun formations to spread a D out. Please Les miles, your team is counting on you just to change things up slightly.

If we drastically reduce the number of three and outs, I think LSU wins the next four games (AU, UF, UK and UM) and has a lot of momentum headed into the Bama game.

These freshmen will be very experienced, seasoned ball players when Bama comes to town.

The three and out problem is not just about conditioning and wearing down our defense.

Chavis has not had the time to assess and adjust to what offenses are doing because our D is running back on the field after a minute of game time has run off the clock for multiple possessions in a row.

Long, sustained drives that result in points, even FGs, is what this team needs and something Harris can provide.

I can't imagine what it would feel like to march down the field and score on the opening drive. There are teams that do that, believe it or not.

The point is, he looked very out of it for those three plays he was in the game. Forced a timeout for not being able to get the play and got sacked for a big loss.

It will make all the difference. Last year's team would have had the exact same issues on defense...maybe worse. However, our offense scored points and rarely had a three and out.

I have not looked at the numbers, but I'd be willing to bet we have had more defense snaps at this point in the season than at this time last year by a large margin. On the opposite side, I bet we have many more short drives with no points than at this time last year.

This defense is capable, but you have to have time to recuperate and assess what the offense is attempting to do to you. We have had neither so far when Jennings has played.

If you notice, when Harris plays (minus one play against NMSU), the defense looks miraculously better. I think this is the reason...longer, sustained drives.

Completely agree. Think about it from his perspective.

He comes in against Mississippi State with LSUs balloon completely deflated. Drives down scores. Pressure increases. Drives down scores. Gets ball with a minute left. Drives down and throws into end zone to win the game. There was certain pressure there and he thrived.

He comes in against NMSU and LSU looks like a grease fire after having lost the previous week to MSU. LSU has committed 4 turnovers already and offense looks horrible.

He leads the team on 7 straight touchdown drives and makes it look easy. He was under pressure when he came in then as well.

This will be a different and new kind of pressure, but his snaps against Wisky were the first he had taken since high school when it counts.

A lot has changed since then.

If he is 15-23 for 200 yards and rushes for another 25-30, it will open up the run game, keep Auburn off the field and result in LSU winning the game.

Sustained drives is the key. Limit or eliminate 3 and outs.

I agree with this completely. (posted earlier about this) In my view, it's the only way we have a chance to win.

How many "3 and outs" does BH6 even have? Hell isn't he 9/10 for TDs on his last 10 drives?

Competely different offense with Harris under center.
