Is it the same as MS Office for Mac/Windows PC?. Can one do stuff like adding equations, subscripts, colorful fonts, add table of contents, page numbers, headers, footers, section breaks.

Pretty sure you have to pay for an Office Subscription to be able to use it to create and edit docs. Id imagine it doesn't offer all of the available features as the desktop version, but I could be wrong.
A quick Google search though......

I have it on my iPhones & iPad2. In my experience it's nothing amazing by any stretch.
I use my iPad2 with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and its not bad, but both version of the software are (very) distant cousins to their Office counterparts.
I've only scratched the surface with Excel, but Word to me seems a waste personally. I have Pages from Apple and it will already save to .pdf or .doc as is and there isn't that much of a loss of formatting at all to speak of when I e-mail documents from it.
In my personal experience, unless you're a really heavy, power user type, I'd say its not really worth it.
