Have a 2003 Rubicon TRX500FAA. Bike was acting up during teal season. I cleaned carb, put in new jets, etc... and it runs fine. Idles and revs up.

I am getting a code 10 which is ECM relay. Going to pull harness loose and clean contacts to see if I can get rid of the code. I would have thought that if I had an ECM problem the bike wouldn't run correctly.

Anyone have any experience with a Honda with ECM codes, trouble, etc...?? Don't understand why I have a code but it seems to run okay. Heading to Colorado in 10 days and don't want a problem up there. Thanks.

I didn't even know they had codes to run to be honest. Mine has an lcd read out but I've never noticed anything after I took my carb down.

Looks like this guy had the same issue and cleaning the contacts on the ECM plugs took care of it.

how is it running under a load? if it runs fine under load, and you clean the relay and loose the code you are probably good.

I had a problem with mine running bad and a camp mate cleaned the carb and it still had issues. took it to the shop and it was a sensor. mine is the same year and model. they are beasts!

I cleaned the ECM plug yesterday but didn't reset the computer and clear the code. After I reset the computer, everything is great. Thanks for the help.

It bogged down under a load and died. Just like a an outboard that runs great at the dock but bogs down under a load. That's why I started with the carb.

Someone posted a nice link about the ECM and cleaning the contacts. I did that but I also had to reset the computer. Did that and it runs great now.

Thanks for the help. Clearing the code was the key after all.
