December 1, 2001: LSU defeats Auburn 27-14 to clinch the SEC West division championship and its first berth in the SEC Championship Game. Auburn is penalized before the game for jumping on the Eye of the Tiger decoration at midfield. Kicking off from the 50-yard line, LSU successfully executes an onside kick and scores a touchdown on the ensuing drive. The game is originally scheduled for September 15, but it is postponed by the September 11 attacks.
Remember 2011 vs Oregon when Mike the Tiger had camo on? He should bring it back.. With a rifle and shoot that Eagle.

Pretty weird how much we didn't like Auburn in the early 2000s and Bama was just another game.

Watched it in Los Angeles. Afterwards, some friends and I rented a limo and went to Vegas to celebrate. Good times.

Without question, that was THE angriest crowd in my years of attending games in Tiger Stadium.
- Huge game with LSU's first trip to Atlanta on the line
- Return game for the "Cigar" game from 1999
- Students were in the stadium HOURS before the game because of some Ripley's Believe it or Not thing they were filming...some chick shooting arrows upside down or some shite. She missed a few times and the students began chanting "OVER RATED!!"
- AU's fricknut punter nearly getting into a brawl with Tiger Band because he and the AU specialists came onto the field too early and refused to get the frick out of the way of the band.
The place was a soccer riot waiting to happen all night...LOVED IT!
Oh...and frick Auburn.

Loved that game. One of the first game I went to. Had so much fun going on to the field. It's kind of hard to believe we actually used to do that.
My first LSU game I can remember was 2000 Alabama replay game. Never forget how I felt when I walked in to stadium and saw eye of the tiger. Fell in love

During that game, Michael Clayton put a vicious hit on a poor Auburn player. If I remember correctly, it was during a kickoff.

Easily one of the most hostile crowds ever in Tiger Stadium. The hate for Auburn was at an all-time high back then.
