What season does this show peak? And also what is the best season in your opinion

I just started season 2 and while this show is a bit dated, I'm a big fan

Thanks to those on this board who led me in this direction

Asking me to pick the best best season or my favorite is like asking me which kardashian likes to get railed by black guys

If I had to choose its 3,4, or 5

You'll still enjoy every season, there's a movie after season 5

But seasons 1-6 are just so fricking good. The writing, creativity and the actors rapport develops as the characters do

The non-Mulder seasons can be skipped. The first season with Doggett was ok though.

end of 7...1-6 is unquestionably the best television ever produced in my mind. 7 is still really good, season 8 is where the alien story arc becomes complete shite. a few gems even with Doggett but it is scully who they frick up completely. Scully is a skeptic, will always be one and she goes full mulder to play off of Daggett. Mulders instincts and knowledge of the occult and folklore really drove the episodes with his theories and hunches.

Plus the on screen chemistry between Anderson and duchovny had developed so strongly that Doggett (while a good character) was too much of a step back

Use to watch this show all the time with my dad

Great show..but I was really young and didn't understand most things early on in the show. I'll probably watch a few and see how I like it and if I want to start up

It's on Netflix?

I always got too frustrated watching this show even though I loved it. Why don't they ever believe him when he is almost always right? He always gets so close to the truth and then gets shut down.

I started out watching the smoking man episodes, mixed in with monster of the week episodes. Then I went back and watched all of the highly rated episodes.

Agreed, I've yet to finish the series. But, I'm afraid to dive into season 9. Because I've heard it's complete garbage.

He gets shut down because he gets too close to the truth.

But Scully's skepticism, especially in the monster of the week episodes after her abduction, is grating.

Mulder: I think it's ZZZ.
Scully: ZZZ doesn't exist.

ZZZ appears and mauls the shite out of Mulder/Scully. Mulder finally saves the day.

Scully: Maybe.

Repeat.

I stopped watching it around the sixth or seventh season. Did they ever bring the main storyline to a close?
