A new policy restricting what girls can wear at a North Dakota high school has some parents and students in an uproar.

A parent called after an assembly was called for all girls at the Devils Lake High School. During the assembly, the girls were told they can’t wear leggings, jeggings or tight jeans anymore.

The assistant principal says they had the girls watch two clips from the movie “Pretty Woman” and compare their attire to the main character, who was a prostitute.

We are told an English teacher also made reference to the girls looking like prostitutes walking the streets.

The assistant principle admitted that teacher probably shouldn’t have said what she did, adding that this new policy is not meant to objectify girls, but stop boys from focusing on something other than class work.

Ridiculous. They need to institute policies to protect the young men from the sex-crazed female teachers. Maybe make the boys wear raincoats (phrasing) and ban frat swoops.

That's just a tad bit sexist.

Since when has it just been assumed that you can wear whatever you want at high school. When I was at public school we had a little more freedom than a common prisoner.

I'm not a feminist by any means, and I hate feminism. While I agree that the school can make whatever rules they want regarding appropriate attire, they should have just made the rule that girls couldn't wear those types of pants and left it at that. It is not the fault of girls that boys can't concentrate. If you really want to remove those types of distractions, then make the schools same sex only. But, the school completely objective these girls.

Also, wearing leggings as though they are actual pants is dumb.
