What happened to the band's song on third down on defense?

Last season they added a short riff on third down to get the crowd fired up. It seems like this year it was replaced with piped in music. What gives?

I liked having the band play more.

If they really did get rid of it, I'm glad. Idiots were too busy trying to clap instead of yelling.

No, they still do that garbage from time to time. I believe he is referring to the Cape Fear theme they played towards the end of the year.

They stopped playing cape fear :(

They either play the clapping cadence or a piped in song. I'd rather they play Fear and the clap interchangeably.

The drum major can't even get the Chinese Bandits song right. Multiple times the band has just played the Geaux Tigers cheer after a defensive stop.

A lot of the game - chant songs have been removed because of the cursing

It's stupid

Whatever they play next. I'm sure it will have a Latin flair.

There wasn't a chant with this one though. It was just a short riff that got the crowd pumped. They need to bring it back instead of the piped in stuff.

Yep.

I liked it. It was like entering the coliseum and having to fend off a hoard of 11 fighting tigers.

ETA: While we're on the topic of songs the band doesn't play, I thought I'd point out the song they played for the Ole Miss game last year when the band came out on the field. I think it's called Circles and it would eliminate the need to play more piped-in stuff.

Not sure if you're trying to be sarcastic, but yelling is A LOT louder than the clap cadence.

The clap cadence needs to die. And soon.

Piped in music is so professional football. I hate professional football.

The clap drum beat is probably older than you. It needs to stay.

Maybe so, but it should only stay if they stop playing it on 3rd down. Loud, drunken yelling is much louder than drunken, off-beat clapping.
