With Harris as QB, would you support a move to a more spread/hurry up

Offense?

It seems like Harris operates best in this and I think it's a big advantage to go hurry up shotgun (3WR) with him. I think we should also not be 1 dimensional and still operate from under center some snaps to give the defense a different look, but mix up the pass a lot more with the run and since we would be getting more snaps off in a game we may run about 40-45 times and pass about 35-40 times.

We haven't been in a hurry up. No huddle, but not hurry up. I wouldn't mind it.

The tempo difference between Harris and Jennings is noticeable. LSU's offense just seems to get into a groove with Harris in there.

Spread looks seem to be effective with him, but I'm ok with the check-with-me they've used with Harris being that he is a true freshman, whatever gets the right calls into the game.

We seemed to switch more to that when he was in the game. I would be a supporter of this. We are in the stone age with our offense. Harris can be the guy that moves us forward.

It's no huddle but its not hurry up. We keep the same personnel on the field, line right back up and Harris checks with the sideline and calls the new play. They're still taking up a lot of the snap clock, but I find it's more deliberate and efficient with avoiding false starts and delay of games

Hopefully...If they don't make this move, it will be tough for him to succeed.

Pretty much ran the spread when Harris was the QB last week.

I like the more spread out offense (not just with Harris but in general as well).

Last week's game was the first I made in person. And the 2 Tight Ends, 2 RB offense looked worse to me in person than it did on the tube.

it was a different offense they were each learning a different half of the play book that might not change until they both know the book !

I can't wait for Harris to open up the secret playbook.

I think some of you are confused with hurry up offenses. Hurry up offenses arent solely composed of the Oregon's of the world that try and snap the ball with 25 seconds left on the play clock.

Hurry up offenses can ALSO go no huddle and line up quickly to force the defense into formation much quicker, read the defense, call in any audible, then run a play. Naturally this still is faster than our normal "run the clock down to 5 seconds on the play clock before snapping it" but also is not the fastest kind of hurry up in the sense we're still snapping it with 10-15 seconds left on the play clock normally.

It's just a different version of a hurry up.

I think it's for the meerkat call.

If you "meerkat" its the new "tiger" offense. If you don't, it's called "laser".

Either way the coaches are forced to have the play ready when the last play ends. The huddle just seems like a good excuse for the coaches (ie Les) to debate the play call or call for needless substitutions while the QB looks to the sideline in desperate frustration.

It is because they are doing a "check with me" at the LOS with Harris. In that strategy they need to line up quick so they can see the defensive alignment and get adjustments from the sidelines.

Jennings was given more free reign to read the defensive alignment on his own and make adjustments.

I don't dislike the idea just a tad skeptical. Sometimes these hurry up offenses can give the ball back too quickly to the other team with quick 3 and outs and such. I don't want our defense out there to much.
