One of the comments on the article:

Allen was a big, mature, experienced guy from LSU. However, I believe like touted Tigers DEs Montgomery and Mingo (who have had NFL problems) Allen did not adjust to Arizona system. LSU DE is more like an Oakie stand up DE, and Arizona you have your hand down all the time fighting bigger linemen.

Haha.

Mingo got hurt otherwise he would have put up good numbers. Montgomery was lazy

From what I remember, he couldn't. He earned his undergraduate degree and wasn't accepted into grad school at LSU.

Your version may be correct but the version I read in the Advocate was he wanted his master's degree in a specialty that LSU does not offer for a graduate program. He wouldn't change to some other field so he had to transfer to a school that offered a master's in his desired field of study.

The fact he had received an undergraduate degree was irrelevant. He still had a year of eligibility.

He has to be enrolled in school.

Edit: As a fifth-year senior and a December graduate, he will be eligible immediately if he transfers to a Football Bowl Subdivision school. He is required to enroll in a graduate school field not offer by LSU to maintain eligibility.

So he quits on his teammates at LSU and then quits on his teammates at Arizona, tells me everything I need to know about him. Can't teach heart.

Jordan should've done his homework better in scouting out other programs.

He could have held off on graduating and just double majored.

when he was healthy he was a very good player for us. Could have helped big time this year. No drop off from him to Hunter or Rasco (or the other way around.) He was bigger than those two guys and much better run defender and could have possibly slid inside to play DT in a pinch. Would have been a better DT than our current dt backups.

Clearly, he's not NFL talent and he had already lost his starting job to Hunter. Football was almost over for him. It's really hard to fault someone in that position when they seek graduate studies. That will likely serve him far better in life than another year as a back-up at LSU and a double major.

Him and his parents went to coach Miles to see where he stood within the program and where Miles saw him playing as far as starting and playing time. Apparently Miles went off on him cussing and raising hell while Jordan's parents were sitting right beside him. Jordan got up and told Miles he knew where he (Jordan) stood in the program and he left and transferred to Zona. Take it for what it's worth but it came from someone I know that is very very close to the family. I wouldn't have believed it if I heard it from some where else. Now bash away if you want but I stand by what was told to me.
