How much is your wireless plan?

I'm currently on Straight Talk, but considering contract service so my wife and I can get new phones without dropping $1000+. My options are limited to AT&T or Verizon. What should I expect to pay for service on 2 phones? We could probably get by on 6-8 gb between us.

They have websites that tell you exactly that

With AT&T share plan you can get 2 lines and 10gb of data for $130. That will go up by $25/line if you get a traditional subsidized phone or a different amount depending on what Next option you choose. No matter which option you chose you're either going to pay full price upfront or finance the phone.

AT&T Next.
3 phones, unlimited text and talk, 10gb shared data. $140 a month.

Consider the 2 year costs associated with any plan you choose, including the cost of the phone. For example, if you and your wife each bought 16GB iPhone 6's, you'll pay $27 a month each for 18 months, plus the $130 plan. After 18 months, you can give back the phone to AT&T for a new one, and you're basically leasing it. Or you can pay the rest off and sell it on ebay. Either way, over the next 24 months, you are paying full price for a phone for each of you.
The two-year cost with the plan for AT&T is going to be over $4,400 (plus sales tax on both phones). If you're paying $45/month each for straight talk (I think that's what it costs), the 2-year cost, paying full price for two new $650 phones, is $3460 + tax for the phones, nearly $1000 less.

That's what I was afraid of. I thought things might have come down since the last time I checked.

Honestly, I'm not sure what's keeping me from switching to straight talk, other than being afraid of the risk. If I hate it, I can't go back to my unlimited plan on AT&T. As it is now, on my grandfathered plan, I pay $140 a month for two lines with some shared minutes and unlimited data. It's $10 more than the new plan, but the benefit is I get subsidized phones -- an iPhone 6 16gb would be $199 plus $40 upgrade fee with contract. So, this plan with two new phones has a two-year cost of $3840, sitting right between straight talk and AT&T's newer plans.

Single line on Sprint. I rarely use data bc I'm always on wifi so i got unlimited talk/text and 600 mb data for $45. With insurance and taxes, comes out to $57.

I've been really happy with it. It just hurts to drop all that cash at once to pay for a phone outright.

It's honestly a good service as long as you get a phone that correlates to the best coverage in your area. Mine runs off AT&Ts and I get pretty good coverage. Voicemails really bother me though. You have this nice, fancy smartphone, but still have the old arse way of listening to all your messages.
That and if you do get throttled for hitting your data limit, you might as well not even try using your web browser.
Either way, Its a good service for the price, but I'm switching back to Verizon.

Net10 90 for two phones. (why do you pay 95?)
To the OP you should calculate what you pay over 2 years with the contract vs what you would pay for unlocked phones and make sure to add in tax and fees.

Cricket Wireless. $55 on autopay, which includes all taxes and fees, gets me 10gb of high speed data. It caps speeds at 8mb/s, but that is plenty fast enough for even the occasional WatchESPN streaming I'll do when out and about. Get yourself a Nexus or Oneplus type device. Drop the big-hype but seldom used frills for a lower cost yet powerful device.
