I have no agenda here, I'm just curious how you all feel about the NFL right now.

IMO the Redskins continually give the middle finger to the fans about not changing their name despite public opinion. Roger Goodell is basically telling everyone he doesn't give 2 sh*ts about public opinion by dodging questions, not stepping down, not disciplining himself, and spewing rhetoric about how they will do better when they are already seen as untrustworthy. And despite all is, NFL TV ratings continue to rise.

LINK

I have tried to stop watching the NFL completely because I feel like the bs Goodell puts out insults my intelligence and reeks of arrogance. I feel like he's saying "We are going to do what we want because we know that you cannot stop watching." Which makes me want to turn off the NFL.

Im not trying to recruit anyone to think as I do but my question is: if ratings are rising am I the only person that feels this way about the NFL? And if you don't feel like I do, then what would it take for you to stop watching?

Public opinion majority is in favor of keeping the name, but don't let that get in the way of your post.

Nothing they would do would get me to stop watching.

Maybe unless they executed kids on the 50 yard line.

I actually support the NFL's resistance to the SJWing going on about the Redskins name.

It's the on the field product that is making me tune out. All the rules to absolutely eliminate any semblance of defense makes the game unwatchable. WTF is a defenseless receiver??? And all the rules to protect the dumbshit owners from sinking so much of their limited payroll into such a fragile asset (QB) has just about completely devalued any offensive achievement over the last 10-15 years.

NFL, why are you trying to turn your game into the Arena League??? (hint: no one watches the Arena League)

my public opinion on the Redskins is WHO GIVES A frick! frick this whole PC era bullshite we've entered. Tell people to shut the frick up and deal with it. It's so damn ridiculous. I found this hilarious post while scouring the internet:

quote:

All 32 NFL teams and how they are offensive.

Teams that name themselves geographically should then have to populate their roster with people only from that place.
No people from Florida should be allowed to play for the Texans, for example, lest we start offending Texans who don't want Floridians calling themselves Texans.

Raiders and Buccaneers are by definition VIOLENT CRIMINALS.
It is offensive to glorify them. Websters is as far as anyone needs to go for that one. In fact, ayone weho is a fan of either team ought to be investigated for possible ties to piracy, and terrorism.

Christians should definitely boycott the Titans, a group of pagan pre-Gods, especially given that they've chosen to plop themselves right down in the heart of the Bible belt. It's a slap, is what it is, worse than any 9/11 mosque. This team mocks Christianity SO much that it has named itself after God-things that no one believes in anymore. People blindly cheer for the team, chanting for the titans, and it's obviously an attempt to revive them and challenge Christianity.
(signed- crazy person who is offended. Hey,, they count as "one", right? MAKE THE CHANGE, GOD-HATERS.)

The Dolphins are offensive because the logo only depicts one species of Dolphin, of which there are more than 40 in 17 genera. VERY exclusionary, and obviously prejudiced towards all the other dolphins.
Hey, they might be as intelligent as we are, and we damn sure know that they are one of the more intelligent creatures on earth. To openly discriminate against the vast majority of them is unthinkable, and yet...

English people should be offended by the Vikings. The trauma they must feel whenever they think of what those people did to their ancestors must be horrifying. A few weeks ago the NFL sent them over there to play a game. can you believe that>? It's like they never even considered history, or how people might feel about a team landing on their shores named for brigands who raped, murdered and burned their people.

the Packers obviously does offend PETA, and I don't see why they don't have a solid argument. Killing animals offends them, and there are a lot more of them than a handful.

Bears.. take your 'safe search' off on google and type in 'bears'.. you'll see why it can be VERY offensive. Ugh.

Lions are being poisoned in Africa by farmers and other assorted culprits. (we all saw the elephant article here a couple days ago,, they do the same thing to lions. ) the city of Detroit is doing nothing but reminding those ****s to go out and set their traps.

the Patriots, while not offensive to many americans, certainly ARE offensive to my friend, Charles Cornwallis V11. Imagine how he must feel every time the defeat of his ancestor is brought up? I'm told 1 person is all it takes...

Jets spread chemtrails. Not only do they offend the more stupid among us, they downright frighten them.
Why is this allowed to continue?

the Bills honor the proud heritage of the native by reminding them who did more to kill their precious buffalo and destroy their way of life than anyone. And if they forget, they can look up his old Wild West Show on Wikipedia and see their ancestors faces of sadness while he forces them to travel around and perform mockeries of their way of life like circus animals.

the Steelers are thieves, and you cannot change the mind of the idiot. Spelling doesn't matter to him, all he knows is what he feels, and that's enough for him.

The Ravens are named after drug fueled parties in which crappy techno music is played way too loud and lots of people have tons of unprotected sex.
Just the message we want to send.

The Browns.. i don't like brown. I think it's a dull color. Change it. I am one person, and I don't care if I'm right. All I know is I'm offended. I prefer red, or blue. Change it.

the Bengals are named for tigers, which remind people of Detroit, which remind them of the lions, which remind the poachers to go out and bait their poison death traps.
Way to go, Cincinnati.

The Colts are named after a handgun. gun control people are offended. get rid of it.

the Jaguars are owned by a guy who looks like he might be a terrorist. Not to me,.. to me he sort of looks like Ron Jeremy.. but to somebody. and all you need is one...

the chargers offend Amish people, what with their leaning on the devil's electricity.

The Broncos are offensive because people suffer from equinophobia. Building a 60 foot tall horse outside the stadium is VERY insensitive.

The Chiefs are offensive because there's too many of them, and as we all know, that spoils the soup....or something like that..

The Rams are offensive because the Devil has the same horns. Obviously.. and i mean OBVIOUSLY there is Satan worshipping going on there.

The 49ers glorify a group of people who, on the backs of those who were eradicating the Native from the plains, vaulted clear to San Francisco, where they began a systematic destruction of the natural environment all to satisfy their greed for some shiny rocks. To help facilitate their exploitation of the land they were stealing, they press-ganged Chinese slave labor to build them railroads to haul their gold back east, and to bring more people out west to continue the subjugation of the savage.
WTF??

The Seahawks offend anyone with a sense of color. God, they really are hideous uniforms.

The Cardinals can't possibly offend anyone, and that is offensive. This is supposed to be a football team, not some Bird Watching club.

The Falcons offend people who do not enjoy the sport of falconry, and largely that is because it is considered a sport of the wealthy, and the name of the team fosters class resentment and a further perception of the gap between haves and have nots.

Tell me I'm wrong, and I say all I have to do is convince ONE person, and that is enough to force change.

The Saints ignore all other religions, and that is very unPC these days.

The Panthers have a black panther on the helmet, and allude to a radical organization from the 60s that still exists today.

Look, the president is black. This should not be necessary anymore, and all it does is scare old people. Be a little more sensitive, says one old coot, and that's all it takes..

The Cowboys are America's team, , and everyone agrees.

The Eagles are birds that look great in flight, but will scatter your trash all over the damn place, and leave ****s on your car that looks like you drove through a white and green paintball fight.

the Giants are of course offensive to everyone.

Probably not, but pre Payton/Brees Saints football isn't anything I want to go back to.

This.

Fantasy football and all the other events associated with football (tailgating, get togethers, etc.) is what is keeping the NFL at the top currently IMO. I feel like if fantasy football went out of style then a ton of fans would lose interest if all they had was the product on the field

If Goodell is still commish in 10 years, it will probably have devolved into something I don't care to watch

Saints going 1-3!!

THIS!
I was so pissed after the Cleveland game, we just avoided the Minnesota game. It was nice. We went to a movie and had a few drinks downtown. We may do the same thing this weekend. There's too much other stuff to do in the fall then watch the Saints shite all over the field.

Yea thats very true the NFL is getting very difficult to watch when you get a flag for "targeting"...isnt that what defenders are suppose to do?

And fantasy football Id agree is their highest calling card

The product not being available on television.

Other than that...I'm watching.

Redskins, Goodell, Rice, Peterson, bountygate, etc...

I have not a single frick to give about any of those.

Now the increased PF's on defenders is something that bugs the shite out of me, but not enough to consider not watching.

quote:

IMO "company name" continually give the middle finger to the fans about "controversy". "CEO" is basically telling everyone he doesn't give 2 sh*ts about public opinion by dodging questions, not stepping down, not disciplining himself, and spewing rhetoric about how they will do better when they are already seen as untrustworthy. And despite all is, "profits" continue to rise.

I could plug numerous F500 companies into your rant and it would still apply. I bet you still happily use oil, buy computers, cars, tennis shoes, clothing, diamonds, etc...

I have pretty much already quit watching NON-Saints NFL games.

The only thing that could get me to stop watching the Saints games, is if they moved.

touché

Only difference is here you or I can choose to not consume the NFL's product and the repercussions are minute while we pretty much have to be consumers of oil, computers, clothing, etc to function in todays world
