Mistborn Trilogy Question

I just started reading Mistborn Trilogy and I love it. Anyone that hasn't read it, go pick it up today.
At the beginning of each chapter, there are a few sentences that seem like thoughts of someone. Are these the Lord Ruler's thoughts? Are they important to the overall story?

The little blurbs come from a different source in each book if I remember correctly, and it might be spoilerish to reveal what they are. They aren't really important to the overall story, but a lot of them provide some foreshadowing for later events or a little extra insight.

They are excerpts written by someone in each book, not necessarily the same person for every book...it will make more sense the more you read. Great trilogy!

Just picked this up. They are next on my list to read. Trying to get through "The Mirror War" first. Its a bit of a battle right now, but I'm getting there. Starting Mistborn series next.

I had this on my list for a while. I really wish I would've started it when I first heard about it. I'm only like 10% into the whole trilogy and i can't put it down.

After you finish the trilogy, make sure to check out Alloy of Law. It is set in the same universe. Short, fun read.

I LOVED the first two in this series (thanks to all who recommended it).
I didn't love the third, though. Idk why, just didn't work for me.
