I keep hearing this place pop up as having an incredible steak. Has anyone been yet? What did you get? How was it?

4.5* on Yelp

I haven't been personally but know several that have and they all rave.

The Classified Cut is supposed to be awesome.

Same here. I haven't been, but my brother has been a number of times and loves it.

I am no help either; never been. But I've heard fantastic things.

Considered it for my upcoming birthday, but I'm not much of a steak girl to waste a birthday meal on it

I've been twice and highly recommend it. The short rib that a friend got was amazing. Also, the sweetbreads were really good. Better the first time, but still pretty good the second time.

Enjoy!

FIFY

One of the best pieces of steak I've ever had. Sweetbreads and heirloom tomato salad awesome as well. Skip the calamari salad.

The steaks are excellent. I've heard some complaints about the appetizers, but the stuffed beet bomb was incredible and very unique. It seems to always be crowded and our service suffered, but was not horrible.

Based solely on the reviews I've heard from trusted diners, I think it may be the best steakhouse in town. Really want to try soon.

Same. But I'm going to wait until someone else is paying.

I went a few months ago. It was fantastic.

We started with the Tomato Celebration Salad, Beetroot Supreme, and Tuna Tartare. The first two apps were divine. The tartare was pretty good and the little soy balls made it unique.

My wife and I split the 34oz Porterhouse along with Truffle French Fries and the Asparagus Gratin. It was amazing. I would say it rivals any of the top tier steakhouses.

I have been 3 times. Sweetbreads and Beetroot Supreme were really quite good. Steak tartare was okay, but would go elsewhere with my app.

The 21 and 31 days aged strip is excellent. Easily my favorite steak in town. I tasted the classified cut and greatly prefer the aged ribeye or strip depending on your preference.

I have been once with a rather large group and thought it was fantastic. Had the beet root (awesome) and the hanger steak (easy for me to like this since it is my favorite cut).

Had a very interesting Bordeaux blend from Galilei and enjoyed it. I didn't realize Israel had much of a wine region.

I really like this place. I think our check with drinks, apps, wine, entrees and desserts was $1200 including tip for 14 people. Had a nice sampling of Biotech people from the southern half of the country and everyone enjoyed it.

Can't wait to go back.

Its fantastic. Been once, and want to return. Even the fish is very good (fiance had grilled tuna). i went fir the hanger steak. Damn good meal, and in a different setting for the FQ (very modern build-out). Well worth trying.

Food is great. It's actually called the "confidential cut" and confidentially speaking it is the Spinalis dorsi (ribeye cap). Everything I had was awesome from sweetbreads to salads to steaks and desserts.

I'm sure it's really good. But even though I like steak, when it comes to restaurants, I don't get overly excited about a steakhouse. Although I do think La Boca is great.

it's incredible. get the classified cut.

get a bunch of appetizers:

carpacchio was great, as was tuna tartar, tahini and artichokes, and the heirloom tomato one... you can't go wrong.

This is a pretty big statement for me

Best steak I have ever had in my life, and it's not even close

I think that's primarily what seperates Doris from some of the others. They have a much stronger focus on apps/sides than most of the other steakhouses. Most steakhouses have a few different potoato and spinach sides, along with salads.

This place seems to cater more to people who wan't more than steak and potatoes.

Had another incredible steak at Doris last night. This time I went with the "classified cut" ($44). The waiter would not tell me what it was, but it definitely tasted like the best part of a ribeye and I would agree it is probably the ribeye cap. Holy hell was it good.

Why wouldn't the waiter tell you what it was? Is that sort of a take what you get order?
