I didn't know there was a rumor that they were launching two phones. I guess if I can't get either one subsidized through AT&T I'll have to settle for the cheaper of the two, which I assume will be the N5 2014.

No word yet on the also heavily rumored Nexus 5 2014, said to launch with this phone offering the 5.2 and 5.9 screen sizes.

What are the odds on a possible 5.2 inch variant having the same specs as the larger one?

Was just about to post something like that. The Nexus 6 will probably be smaller than the 6+ given those huge bezels the iPhones still have.

The 5.2 will have the same Snapdragon 805 processor for sure. May have 2GB of RAM instead 3, and will have a smaller battery, may or may not have a 1440p display.

This is getting too much. The sizes of phones are insane. It isn't so people can enjoy the huge screen- most people have trouble using it with one hand. A huge screen is needed to fit the 3000+ mAh battery, nice camera, processor....

I just got my custom Moto X 2014 with ebony wood back and it feels great in my hand. 5.2 inches, but very thin and easy to use and fit in my skinny jeans.

unfortunately, I don't think there will be a smaller Nexus. I think the Moto X would fill that role.

Lion might replace Kitkat, a screenshot (available below) obtained in the GFXBench application by @emtleaks seems to indicate, further revealing that the next Nexus smartphone might be called Nexus 5 (2014) instead of Nexus 6 or Nexus X, as was previously reported.

The same alleged benchmark test reveals that Android Lion is actually Android 5.0, in line with a recent report regarding Google’s number scheme for Android L. The tests also suggest that the phone packs a 5.2-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 12-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

What’s not clear is what company is making the handset for Google. So far, Motorola appears to be the chosen OEM to develop this year’s Nexus smartphone, and a report did indicate that two Nexus 6 models may come out, one featuring a 5.9-inch display and one packing a 5.2-inch screen, such as the Nexus 5 (2014) shown in the following screenshot.

Edit: I really hope they make the 5 2014. Even though I may get the 6 just because it's the nexus fricking 6

Where did you get it and what did you pay?

ETA: I found the 16gb version for $502.29 shipped.

Meh, will be shite compared to the new Nexus in a month. Z3's are early 2014 hardware, Snapdragon 801, 1080p, 4.4, etc.

Anything is better than a 2012 iPhone 6 720p display though.

that resolution is more than fine for a 4.7" screen. Last year, I didn’t understand why they were making phones with 1080p screens. Now phones are coming out with 2K screens which is completely ridiculous. I honestly don’t see the point in that.
