online mortgage brokers? Rates are 2.8 for a 15 year. Are they easy to deal with, reputable, would you recommend them? Or do they charge low rates and then dick you over later through added fees and headaches?

I've wondered about this too. I'm inventing this scenario, but perhaps they will not let you autopay, then slam you with late fees if you are a day late. I have no idea.

I know a couple of people who have used them. I would not say they were any more gotchas than dealing with someone in person. Both times, the loan was eventually sold. I imagine their overhead is less because of no physical space.

Don't trust Quicken.

I went to them first, but had a regional bank offer me 2000 less in fees and .125 lower rate.

The idiots then tried to bully me into going with them. They even sent out an appraiser after I directly told them not to and tried I charge me for it.

i refi'd with quicken 3 years ago and it was a breeze

everything was done through their website and when it came time to close, they sent a person to my house with the documents to sign

i would recommend them based on my experience

i was met with no surprises or anything like that

they haven't sold my loan yet, so I doubt they plan to

They were awesome until I told them that I wasn't going to use them. Great systems, nice people, etc.

Since they missed on price so badly, I didn't even ask them to match, because they were either unable or they were knowingly fricking me in the first bid. I don't do business like that.
