These guys are obviously clueless.
I don't know how clueless they are... but I do agree that Derek Fisher should be a very highly rated prospect.
I also think Josh Hader and Vincent Valasquez are going to be highly regarded pros. I saw Hader pitch against SA last year and he was very dominant. He only gave up one or two hits and struck out quite a few. The guy has an impressive arm.
I also look for Tony Kemp to be part of a trade sometime this season. The guy is too good at getting on base to be buried in the minors.

Pretty sure Prom is just giving Ryno a hard time by saying that, fellas. Ryno was pretty vocal about hating that pick when it was made if I remember correctly.

Bump just to keep DAT active... And I'm glad to see Bagwell is back with the organization.
I think he did wonders as a hitting coach.

well I think they are rated appropriately for the most part based on what we know know about them. I still see Derek Fisher is probably a Robbie Grossman type player. I think Reed probably has the best chance of any player aside from Correa of being an impact or plus bat…but again, its still early for those guys.

I'm excited to see what this team does. Last year was a disaster out of the gate. Nobody hit at all which lead to a 9-19 record. Following that month, the team had a 61-73 record. Not great but not dreadful for a team with as many holes as that one. Last year we had holes at 1st, short, 3rd, catcher and left field.
Gattis helps at at first or left, a slight downgrade in center with Rasmus lead to an upgrade at 3rd in Valbuena. Lowrie automatically becomes our best shortstop since....Jed Lowrie. Catcher is still a concern. I don't see Gattis spending much time there. I'm hopeful that Castro can bounce back to 2013 form and Conger can fill in well in split time.
This is on paper an improved team from last year but the question is how will the pitching fare? I expect some form of regression for Jabroni and DK but how much so is the main concern. Pitching carried the team last year.

bullpen has to be a major improvement with Neshek and gregerson added to sipp/qualls/chapman /fields . we only two semi reliable guys for most of last year.

shite I didn't even think to mention the bullpen. That's been a HUGE weakness in recent years. Non stop blown leads in the rare instance we had one. Like you said, Neshek, Gregerson, Qualls and Sipp are a solid group and even Fields came on late last year after a disaster start.

Its a huge improvement too. On paper, the bullpen looks to be a big enough improvement that it can pick up the slack from any regression from the SPs that is expected.

Remember when Bo gave up the right to a DH for something Bizarre like putting Tony Sipp in left field for while he brought in Jerome Williams to pitch to one batter?
And when he brought in Jerome Williams as closer with a 1 run lead against the A's? Bo left the bar sitting pretty low for A.J.
ETA: found the move I was referring to. Jerome Williams started the inning and got one out. Tony Sipp comes in and gets the 2nd out and then moves to left field while Josh Zeid came in for one batter after which Sipp returned to the mound at the top of the next inning. Putting Sipp into left sacrificed the DH.

You mean the time when Bo became the first manager in AL history to lose the DH spot? Classic.
Posted on 1/28/15 at 2:18 pm to msutiger
Joe Maddon actually accomplished the feat a year earlier but that was due to a miswritten lineup card that had both Zobrist and Longoria as 3B with no DH filled on. It wasn't some halfassed brilliant scheme thought up by a manager with his head up his arse.

This is putting it far too nicely.

They did another for 4 pm except the prize was for 2 tickets to opening day and BP field passes. That got 1100+ retweets. Nobody wants poor Jose's autograph.

I'm so sick of the constant twitter crap.
