Sawing a Human Head Off.

Shouldn't there be a new category for prosecution? Should the death penalty be pretty much automatic if convicted of this? The sheer depravity of starting an action like this and continuing to conclusion is truly horrifying to me.
The punishment should always fit the crime. But how could anyone who is not divorced from human emotion fricking DO this?

It's wholly apart from and alien to a right thinking mind. Legislating about how horrendous or not it is could equally lead to this being considered insane and end in the opposite of the death penalty, with perpetrators spending time in mental health institutions in greater comfort than prison affords.
It's better to leave things exactly as they are, with prosecutors choosing to pursue the death penalty based on the crime and circumstances.
Granted, I don't like the state having that right to begin with. I'm just addressing that what you'd like to see happen here is based on an emotional response, not a logical one. Keep that view if you want, but remember it next time you accuse liberals of making arguments based on feelings.

A person that is insane shouldn't be above the death penalty. At least that's how I see it and I've never understood why crazy people get a pass. If you do the crime, you pay the price, no matter you're mental state.

What if I dig up a body from the graveyard and saw its head off?

I sawed the top of the skull off during gross anatomy in Dental School. It didn't take too long.
It would have been quicker if my hacksaw blade wasn't so dull.

This type of crime, especially with terroristic overtones like this should be automatic hanging on the courthouse lawn 30 min after a guilty verdict.
The 30 min is to give Al Jezeera and CNN time to set up cameras.
NO TOLERANCE for this kind of shite. NONE, ZERO!!!

Yep.
It's not like insanity pleas are wildly successful.

If someone doesn't have the mental awareness that sawing off a head is a crime, then that's even more of a reason to execute them. No place in this world for monsters such as that
