I love Halloween and always watch several horror movies during October. Need some new movies to watch. What are your favorite/the best horror movies out there? I include movies like Se7en in the horror genre too. Feel free to state the obvious ones, i.e. The Exorcist, Alien, etc.

Sinister is one of my favs in recent memory. It's pretty fricked up.

The Dark Knight Rises. The plot holes will keep you awake for days.

Horror is my favorite genre. Some good ones that fly under the radar:

The Pact
Banshee Chapter (if you like jump scares and Ted Levine playing Hunter S. Thompson)
Black Christmas (70's one)
Absentia
High Tension (ignore plot twists)

High Tension might just have the worst ending of any movie ever.

Brosef's recs are not for the faint of heart. There's some serious disturbance there, especially Martyrs.

Kill List is not necessarily a horror film, but if Seven qualifies then this one does. It's pretty far out.

Right... I just wanted to prepare him. That ain't light fare. That could legitimately mess someone up.
