With it being the centennial of the start of WWI, I found myself asking if there were some WWI games to check out. It seemed pretty underwhelming selection-wise but just came across this:

Videos look interesting- didn't know if anyone here has played it? Would you recommend it? Available as a pre release for $20 on Steam

As a historian, I think WWI is extremely under recognized. Props to them for trying something new. But, it seems rather difficult to pull off.

What do you think it is? The slow actions of the average infantry's weapons?

The weaponry, the tactics, the general public's lack of knowledge or interest in the war.

Hey guys, so I bought and played this last night.

I will say I really enjoy it. It's slower paced than your Call of Duty's, etc... but it's got a great gameplay design that is based on attacks and counterattacks which I thought was really cool.

Because it's prerelease, I did run into some issues, but none with the actual gameplay. Yes, it's a little raw while playing, but my main problem was getting booted for latency from the servers when I've never had internet issues otherwise. Later at night I was up and running and played it.

Very cool game, but a prerelease for sure.

I just don't think I could fork over $20 for it. I would love to give it a shot, but i'm not willing to pay for it.

i'd be willing to give 20 bucks for a shot at it. if nothing else to support people doing something other than the same shite over and over

That was kind of my thought process. And it'll be a bargain if it turns into a legit production, asyou'll have paid $20 for it.

The pacific gets ignored too much in movies and games. I would love to see a Naval version of World of tanks, choose from a carrier, destroyer, sub, etc.. Would be cool to have huge multi-player naval battles.
