I have noticed some pretty significant recently and was not sure why. I then noticed that a post workout protein complex I picked up on clearance contains creatine. I tried plain creatine monohydrate years ago and did not notice many results. I figured I was a non responder. A few years ago I tried a creatine product called size one and noticed big increases in strength and gained about seven pounds in a month. I am thinking about trying size on again but was wondering if there is a better product on the market now. TIA

Creatine monohydrate, brand doesn't matter

ETA- when you used it before, did you drink plenty of water? What was your dosage you used? What kind of workouts?

I cant remember the dosage I used the first time but I did drink plenty of water and did a standard push pull split.

I use Optimum Nutrition creatine monohydrate. Not really sure that brand matters.

I did the loading phase(10 grams for 10 days) then I went to normal dose of 5 grams per day.

I think certain products have a different "delivery system." Not sure how much it matters.

I really haven't noticed a difference in brands. I just buy the one that's less gritty. Using bodybuilding.coms now.

Don't do this. They are selling it as a benefit but what the manufacturer is really doing is selling you less actual protein and cutting it with cheaper shite.

Any creatine monohydrate will do. I'd say 75% of manufactures are getting their bulk powder from the same source. Put 10 grams in an intra workout drink and you're good.

Dude if you still need creatine at your age, you are doing something wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, it takes about a month just for creatine monohydrate to settle into the muscle and for you to begin to see much of a result. As someone else said, it's the loading phase. So if you only used it for a month, then switched to another creatine type, your muscles were already saturated and the type probably didn't matter at that point. Not sure that's how it went down, but it's something to consider. I'm just using ON creatine monohydrate. I'm getting bigger, but nothing that will make you do a double take. My wife is pretty much the only one that's noticed and she hates it.

This. I've actually seen a diet routine for body builders that incorporates pixie stix as a pre-workout to be taken along with caffeine and creatine. Apparently, creatine absorbs into the body better when you are in a state of hyperinsulinimea, which can be achieved more easily by consuming a bunch of simple carbs in conjunction with some easy to digest proteins like whey. I want to say it's something like 50g of simple carbs and 50g of protein to reach hyperinsulinimea. But I only read one article on it, so do your own research on that.
