I'm a supporter of playing rent a wins because the sec schedule is so brutal and I'm not trying to devalue anything LSU did Saturday night. But I just thought New Mexico was one of the worst D1 school I have ever seen. They has some of the smallest players I've ever seen and the QB couldn't hardly complete a pass

All true, their DL/OL were SEC LB size. The D secondary looked HS caliber at best. That said, our starting QB threw 2 picks and coughed it up to them in the first 15...Says a lot about him as the starter.

Jennings made that defense look like an All-SEC caliber unit.

I mean they have 2 wins so its relative to who they play....they arent on LSU's level but arent the worst team to set foot in tiger stadium.

That game needed to happen despite the inferior opponent. It gave Miles a clear picture at the QB position (I hope) and also inspired confidence in the team that they still are very talented and can do what they are capable of doing against that kind of opponent.

Perfect game for Harris to take over IMHO. Just sympathize with AJ. Hope he has success in whatever role he gets.

They were really bad. I don't know about the worst.

Hard to say the worst, but they were remarkably awful.

I dont think they were the worst LSU hasn't ever played, but they were definitely undersized and out matched.

It would have been good to play this team in November, like between the Bama and A&M games, for a breather and a confidence-builder.

Playing them after the Moo State nightmare didnt really help much.

We have only played them one other time back in 1996 on September 28th which is almost to the day eighteen years later. LSU won 63-7 then too.

New Mexico State is worse. New Mexico beat New Mexico State.

They're definitely the kind of team that you want your QB to have a 79% completion rate against.

One of the worst, definitely. But these rent-a-wins are expected to be some of the worst, otherwise they wouldn't agree to being paid for an old fashioned arse whooping. Just like Vandy or Kentucky wouldn't agree to a one game series at Ohio State or Oregon, they'd require a home and home because they believe they are on equal footing to ask for that. Only bad football schools that need the money will agree to these rent-a-wins.
And the game we played in the 1st quarter would have had us down 14-0 at least instead of up 14-0 if we were playing a team with even a little respect. We would have made Vandy look like Bama if we did that against them. But we came out up two touchdowns and proceeded to steamroll them after, showing how bad they were. Look no further than the 1-yard punt if you want to see the mediocrity of their players. That was a clean punt that shanked for one yard. Most other teams would consider a 30 yard punt a shanked punt.

I'm not sure if you've watched 2014 Vandy play, but they aren't much better than NMSU was.

I didnt say they weren't terrible. But if we turned the ball over to them 4 times in the 1st quarter you know they'd be up on us. They still have talent NMSU can only dream of. Not the same talent as LSU or Bama, but good talent compared to rent-a-win schools
