One year out, plenty availability at reputable Syracuse hotels for $125/night.

Goes to show you the Yankees lack of interest in college football. SEC towns aren't as ignorant to impending LSU invasions.

Hotwire would be way cheaper. Worth checking out this far ahead of time, I found 4 stars in Houston for $80 the weekend of the Wisconsin game

Not for a College Town on a football game weekend.

Free to book and cancel later if you don't want. Rates will only go up as hotels fill.

Yea. Marriott doesn't open up their inventory until next week...so I'm waiting until then.

Getting there can be a pain in the rear end...nice town though and a reasonably decent university area...

I was born up there. It's a straight shot up through Watertown/Ogdensburg to Ottawa (200 miles) if you want to take a great day trip and are willing to go through immigration. Ottawa is a cool place, and a great place to park a car and see the sites, Parliament, the canal , etc...

The quicker day trip option might be to head over to Thousand Islands (Alexandria Bay) and take a boat tour. It's absolutely gorgeous.

My buddy from Nova Scotia (Halifax) recommends flying into Buffalo for cheapest flights.

From what I hear, worth it to grab some wings there and check out Niagra Falls. I'm thinking about a stop in Toronto also. May be a long time (or dead) until I'm in that neck of the woods again.

Check out Turning Stone Resort and Casino. They have 3 golf courses (2 of which are very good, the third I don't know). Beautiful time of year there. Only about 35 miles from Syracuse on the NY State Thruway (Interstate 90 and 81).

Buffalo to Syracuse is a three hour drive. Why do that? Fly in to Syracuse and head up to the Lake Ontario/ Thousand Islands. It's much better and less touristy that Niagara Falls, imho. And of course the Finger Lakes are an hour or so away in Ithaca/ Watkins Glen and they are nice too. It's pretty countryside and you can buy cheese curd on the side of the road....
