I expect the rantards to come out in force with the comments of "score more points".

But for those with real insight, please step forward.

My keys:

1. Stack the box, make Marshall throw all day.
2. Win the turnover battle
3. Need a huge day on special teams
4. Harris throws 20+ times

If we can rush for over 200 yards, we will win the game.

The problem is, if you stack the box and you have your corners in man...once Auburn breaks through the first line of defense (and they will break through), there is no one there to stop them from going the distance.

Brandon Harris needs a repeat performance. I realize that is very unlikely...but that's what LSU will need to claim victory and not finish second.

Score more points. And keep them from scoring.

Wisconsin ran right through our stacked box. Doesn't work this year.

1- yes
2- yes
3- maybe not
4- maybe

Honestly think LSU singles the WR and loads up to stop the run and make Marshall beat them. I see the LSU secondary showing out if auburn is forced to pass.

I just don't think Auburn is that good where we must have a huge day on special teams. They are a good team, but to me, nothing special. Still a hard place to win. Key is stopping the run, and LSU sustaining drives eating the clock....do those two things, and avoid turnovers, LSU wins this game, perhaps easier than some expect. This is a matchup where chavis generally thrives....

Not to mention that against a Malzahn offense with the speed to the perimeter...they would score 100 if we crowded everyone in 'the box' We act as if the only way to run the football is how we do it.

Defensively, we need to get Auburn behind the chains. Got to win 1st down and keep the Aubs in 3rd and long.

Offensively, the O-line needs to clear some acreage for our RBs. Harris needs to play - A LOT.

There is only one answer to this question and it's to penetrate with the DTs. If the DTs can't/don't get penetration, it gives the read option too many cutback seams and forces the LBs/DEs to hesitate on the fake. If the DTs get push it effectively allows the pursuit to swarm to the ball instead of sit back and wait to see where it's going. This is a bad matchup defensively for the Tigers, but the offense can move the ball against Auburn if they play a more open approach and give Harris some space in the pocket.

So interior defensive line penetration against the read option is key, it also forces Marshall to make quicker decisions in the passing game. This is why LSU has matched up well against spread teams in the past. We have had good push along the defensive line and quick DEs.

I hope Chavis does some slanting with the interior Dline to improve penetration.

This could be/would be one of the biggest wins in the Miles tenure since landing in BR.
