Is it time to give someone else a look at punt returner. White hasn't made many mistakes in fielding them (other than some boneheaded decisions trying to field them on the bounce which Miles must coach) and they have been kicking away from him but we sure could use an explosive play there in a game like this week.
Could Dural provide that?

What exactly would change?

Trey Quinn fielded at least 2 punts and had similar results to White.

No, Dural is fast, but not the type of speed you look for on punts. He's a strider. On punts, you typically want smaller, shiftier guys who also have top end speed. Dural has top end speed to go with height. His height is an advantage at WR, but not returning punts.

Quinn seems like a natural. Hell, he's not as fast, but Diarse may be a good punt returner because he seems to be tough to tackle when he has a little space to set you up.

Also, I think they should have everyone's favorite walk-on, Miquel James, fielding some in practice. He seems like he may have a little Trindon Holiday/Skyler Green in him.

Now that Thomas is injured, I think we should pull White off of return duty. If he'd been setting the world on fire, I might feel differently.

You are right about the bonehead decisions to field a bouncing ball that is rolling to a stop and surrounded by the defenders. This has happened on more than one occasion. How many of you had your heart stop when you saw the ball bounce right through the wickets with White standing on the 5 yard line during the NMSU game? It has not cost LSU yet but I am wondering if it will in a tight game.

I think Trey Quinn would be the best choice.
