No offense to you, but I don't have the patience to go through those 50 page links.

Wish they'd just do a list!

LOUISIANA

Jean Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop — New Orleans (Est. 1772)

You wouldn’t think the oldest bar in Louisiana would be smack at the end of the tourist trap that is Bourbon Street, but it is. Jean Lafitte’s used to be a hangout for pirates and other carriers of contraband — and then a gay bar in the 1950s — before becoming a nice, quiet little pub on America’s most raucous street.

I was actually in the oldest bar in Florida just 2 months ago. Fernandina Beach Hampton Inn is only 2 blocks away. Yes. I'm a Hampton Inn baller.

I've been to four:

Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida.

I haven't been to the one in Oregon, yet, but will if the opportunity arises...

ETA: Modified to add Georgia...

Went there back in 1982 on my way to Lexington. Quaint place. Claimed that Washington slept there. I had no reason to doubt it.

It should surprise absolutely nobody that the oldest bar in Alabama was started by “a plantation owner with large holdings, and a loyal Southerner who fought in General Lee’s army.” In New York this would likely lead to your bar getting picketed (unless you put it in Williamsburg to be “ironic”), but in Alabama it makes you one of the most popular spots in Mobile.
Wow I did not even realize this. Been here more times than I can count

During the 50's it was a gay bar. A new owner came in and kicked them out. The boys opened Lafitte's in Exile one corner away.

LA, FL, GA and MS for me. Although, I don't know about MS until I just looked at this list. I went to Kings Tavern for the prime rib by recommendation....didn't know it was the oldest bar in MS.

I've been to Crockmeir's and Jean Lafitte's. May have been to the one in Natchez during college, not really sure.
