Jerry Jones looks like he got that decision right.

New players in NOLA last year and things clearly went well. But now that shine is gone and he is back to being mid tier at best as a DC

I thin you and I may have different definitions of what this means...

Give him til the end of the year til you start throwing around tiers. Hes prolly the best DC we got on the team.
We could roll with Vitt, or promote that dumbazz Bill Johnson. But I dont think either of them would be better than midtier.

Seriously do you want Bill Johnson as the head of our defense?

RR gets fired everywhere he coaches. He has tried to claim in the past that he's never had talent to work with but the truth is, he just isn't very good. He will get fired here too, it's just a matter of when that will happen. No way will he be fired during the season. If things don't change in a dramatic fashion, I can't see him being here next year.

I think he's just horrible at adjusting once teams have done just that to him. He does well his first year, because he usually revamps a defense and people don't know what to expect. Once they do, he's predictable with that set of players and his teams lose focus.

Tackling is the biggest problem the Saints have right now. They try to strip the ball all of the time instead of just tackling the guy and it results in 5 yard plays going for 15 or 20. Also, Vacarro can't cover anyone, and he needs to be shifted back to a true safety and perhaps even a back up at this point.

Every position on this defense has regressed with maybe the exception of LBers not named Gallette.

What's funny about your comment is we clearly attempt to strip every single tackle but we have only forced what 1 fumble in about 250 tried?

Yup. Rob clearly didn't show them how to go after the ball like it's a ham sandwich. Then we'd have forced like 50 fumbles a game.

The entire Ryan family is more concerned about trash-talking and shameless self-promotion than they are about their defenses.

Even Daddy. Buddy is remembered as an all-time great DC, but damn, how can you not be with all of the players he coached?

Reggie White
Mike Singletary
Richard Dent
Jerome Brown
Dan Hampton
Wilber Marshall
Eric Allen
Clyde Simmons
Seth Joyner
Gary Fencik
Dave Dueraon

You saw how good he really was when he had crap in Arizona.

I can't figure out what in God's creation the Saints expected by hiring a DC who had just been fired because of producing a piece of sshhit defense and proclaiming him to be the answer. Well, guess what? Now the Saints have a piece of sshhit defense and getting worse. I think the proper word would be "Duhh".

I was talking to a Dallas fan in a bar last year. I told him, "Thank you for Rob Ryan."

He said, "Don't thank me yet, there was a reason he was fired from Dallas."

I guess he was right.

Ryan sucks. He needs to go, but the players fire needs to be questioned too.

Where the hell has Cam Jordan been since last year and how have him and Vacarro regressed so much?

Rob Ryan does suck. I hated it when he drafted Patrick Robinson and signed 55 safeties to the roster this offseason.

The Saints will fire Ryan at the end of the season, but, IMHO, that's not going to fix all of the problems.

And the one safety he let get away because he couldn't do dick in his system actually turned out to be Darren Sharper 2.0 in Philadelphia.

Even Roman Harper has more INTs than the Saints after 4 games.

Jenkins' weren't "Ball-hawking" INTs. Those were plain giftwrapped thrown directly to him. One was a nice dive he made to get it, but lets not act as if he's the greatest safety in the world

Harper's was straight popped up in the air at the line and he came down with it.

Last year he was new here with new players... you know how you rarely see a trade in the NFL .... its because teams never let go of players or coaches that can help them win.

thats the point buddy
