They will ask him one direct question after the other about the QB situation, and he will give an indirect answer to each one. The media and the fans will come away irritated and frustrated.

He could avoid all of this, and even cast a ray of sunshine on the program, if he would just say the five words that must be said: Brandon Harris will start Saturday.

But mark my words. This will be a press conference like no other.

What makes you think that he cares what any one thinks?

We have two young quarterbacks who both will struggle at times. It is best for him to keep everything close to the vest.

The most revealing of all will be if he says it will be "a gameday decision" = Jennings

les could take the distraction away by naming harris the starter but he won't.

Les has the chest and the want to be decommittal

Distraction to who? The fans?

You think the players don't know who the starter will be? You know the guy working with the first team.

What does Les or the team gain from announcing a starter today, other than giving Auburn intel?

Your prediction of the press conference sounds just like all the other press conferences Miles has held.

What will make it "a press conference like no other"???

Why does he have to say anything. People act like Miles owes us and should tell us everything. Just shut up sit down and enjoy the season

This is retarded. After a ho-hum win against a nobody program, when we know he won't answer questions about the QB situation? It will be a lot of nothingness.

He won't say a word because that isn't his style.

Perhaps the first snap will have both Jennings and Harris in the pistol diamond set just to troll us all.

Why do people think Les Miles gives a rat's arse about announcing (publicly) who's starting Saturday? If I were him, I wouldn't announce until at LEAST Thursday (publicly), if at all.

Regardless of who the fans think should start at qb.....the other qb will more than likely be needed at some point this season. Both are very young and don't need their confidence crushed at this point.

Hypothetical: miles names Harris the starter at auburn and Harris totally stinks it up and Jennings comes in and plays great. Does miles makes Jennings the starter at Florida?

If I were miles, I would say both qb's are going to play and they will stick with the hot hand.

This is probably the one time it makes sense NOT to be up front about the QB situation given that we are playing Auburn and allowing them to prepare for Harris vs. Jennings could be an advantage for them.

This! There is absolutely no benefit for Les to announce that Harris will start. Let Auburn prep for both.
