Against Georgia and Bama would they still be ranked #5 this year?

Hell no. They could have easily lost one or two more on top of those you just named. I'm not saying that we will win Saturday (depending on our QB controversy), but Auburn is a paper tiger with at least 2 or 3 losses on the schedule IMO.

I hate people acting like they won by luck. It wasn't luck that put Auburn in a position to win. Georgia or Alabama just needed to do their job and get a 2 possession lead and there is no miracle play. The final score is all that matters and Auburn won those games and earned their ranking.

If Brandon Harris brought us back last week against Miss St then all of us would just be talking about how we beat Miss St and how they suck. Luck wouldn't be considered at all.

One play was a "miracle" ...the other was just a good special teams play......everyone needs a little luck to make the title game.....Auburn is still gonna' be a tough out for us........

The Georgia game was 100% luck in a game where they blew a multiple score lead.

The Alabama game wasn't so much luck but rather them simply taking what they wanted. Throw in some terrible coaching by Saban and it set up that 4th quarter.

No, we would be saying what we are saying now. Why hasn't Harris been playing earlier and more?

True, but Harris wasn't throwing up prayers perfectly deflected between double coverage for huge yardage td's to come back either. But like someone said, you do need a little luck and a few bounces to go your way and they got those favorable bounces. If they weren't worthy of being in the title last year they would have never been in position for those bounces to matter.

I can somewhat agree with the bama part, but damn man, if you don't think luck had anything to do, with the UGA game, then I don't know what to tell you.

UGA at tye end was luck, but Bama was not luck and I laugh every time it is brought up. They ran a kickoff back and the reason why was because Saban was dumb enough to kick a 60 yard FG, when his QBs miss F-ing chip shots. All the fat boys on the field also aided into not catching him.

This.

They are still a good team that is going to light up our run D though.

Every team that has a great year does so with some degree of luck. To say otherwise is ignoring reality.

While Auburn did everything they needed to do to put themselves in a position to get lucky, they were literally 2 plays away from being a 3 loss team.

They were a good team but nothing special. We pushed their shite in last year so let's not pretend they were some sort of juggernaut.

If the Kick Six didn't happen, Auburn would have won the Iron Bowl in OT in all likelihood. They had all the momentum and Alabama couldn't kick a FG.

Could be.

They would ne a 3 loss team (like us) and they would still be undefeated in the SEC.

We were 8 till MSU beat us.

The old saying is still true today "You have to be good to be lucky" and Auburn is still very, very good. They were also very, very lucky against Georgia and Alabama last year. However, they still should have won the national championship against FSU. They scored too early on their late drive in 4th qtr. I don't believe they are as good this season: offensive line not blocking as well and offense not as strong. LSU should play them well on Sat. I like our chances....... Geaux Tigers!

^^^ this. I say this all the time, whenever people bring up the Iron Bowl. It's not like they were losing when the kick six happened. the game was tied.
