In the falcons game, Minnesota scored what was called a Td with 23 seconds left. Then the refs reverse it so it is an automatic 10 second run off. What in gods creation kind of dumbass rule is that?

How that rule was applied was full retard. They would have had another shot at a TD, but they didn't because the refs fricked up the first TD call.

I feel like that rule was written by a retard. And before anyone gets offended, I mean it in a literal medical sense

So did the refs not explain this to Minny coaches...or did the Vikings coaches not know rule?

I guess, but that's not something they'd necessarily expect.

If the ref asked I am fine with the rule. If the refs don't make that option known then the refs screwed the shite out of Minny

Teams should have the option to use a timeout to avoid the runoff after the review. That's what timeouts are for.

Exactly. Hard to know the details.

But there are plenty of other rules (such as a injury) where a team can use a TO to avoid the 10 second runoff...seems like coaches should've known the rule.

But like you said, if refs didn't convey it or give option it's messed up.

What's the rule? If you have a TD reviewed and overturned inside a minute there's a 10 second runoff?

Umm they should. Anyone who watches the NFL casually should know that

Even if the coach knows the ref has to ask. If the ref doesn't ask what is the coach supposed to do? Tackle the ref in the middle of his call and tell him he wants the timeout?

Yea. It's supposed to prevent a situation where a team gets a free timeout by refs ruling a play a score when they were really stopped short (the 10 secs is the amount of time it would take for them to run up and spike the ball/set up a new play)

No, you tell them after and they add it back. It's not that difficult

Nothing wrong with the rule. Teams get three timeouts. They are for situations like these.

I agree the rule is fine if they give the team the option to use the timeout. We will find out after the game if the refs knew this and applied it

A coach should know the rules to the game that he's paid to coach. Period.

Saints fans just mad because it helped the Falcons. They wouldn't care otherwise.

Well Sherlock, how the hell does the coach use the timeout to stop the runoff if the ref doesn't allow him to do it?
