Sorry - no pix. But, both places were damn good. Had the chicken liver pate and a roasted carrot pizza at Pizza Domenica. Both were outstanding. We ate at the bar (were on limited time sine we were going to see The Subdudes) and the three people working behind the bar were nothing short of tremendous. Tried a couple of their craft cocktail drinks (mine was vodka based - hers bourbon) and were very impressed.
Headed to Lolas last night after the SPCA benefit at City Park. Had a roasted butternut squash and goat cheese app which was very good, followed by the seafood paella entree which was excellent. Tried their homemade sangria, but it was a tad to sweet for us. Still, a damn nice outing and very reasonably priced.
Would highly recommend both places.

I've been wanting to try Pizza Domenica but haven't been able to go. And I'd like to go to Lola's but it's crowded and they don't take reservations. Still want to try the food there though.

Have Domenica on my list when I'm in NOLA in a few weeks.

Domenica totally lives up to the praise it receives based on my 2 visits there. Outstanding quality all the way around.

Have reservations at Peche. Then maybe EAT for lunch and Parkway for lunch. Need dinner one more night so maybe Lola's. Any suggestions for something casual with entrees around 20-30 and seafood oriented?

You sound like a blast.

Sure the seating is tight, but I have never waited very long for a table. One of the best neighborhood restaurants in the city for a casual date night IMO.

Always love the "I've never been to either one" response.

I went to Pizza D Saturday. You can taste the smoke from the wood burn oven on the meat. The place is absolutely delicious and if you go between 2-6 half off pizzas and $3 mixed drinks.

Love both places, but I really don't care for the paella at Lola, but I LOVE a bunch of other stuff there. Their lamb with gorgonzola dip and grilled veggies and basmati rice is soooo good.

Their pate is pretty good, but if I'm getting an app there it's hard for me to pass up their burrata. It's fricking awesome. Also I recommend at least once trying their crust dipping sauces. Worth the $3 bucks.

The garlic fonduta is absolutely delicious.....the garlic knots come with it, and you'll have plenty left over for the pizza crusts. Half price pizzas all afternoon, too.
