I know some people are probably sick of seeing golf threads on this board, but I thought this deserved it's own thread.

Who would you like to see as the captain and on the team at the 2016 Ryder Cup? I know a lot of it depends on the form they are playing in, but I would like to see:
Patrick Reed
Billy Horschel
Jordan Spieth
Justin Thomas
Chesson Hadley
Russell Henley
Rickie Fowler
Tiger Woods
Morgan Hoffman
Dustin Johnson (if fully recovered)
Matt Kuchar
Jimmy Walker

Captain: Fred Couples

Well this thread is pointless being how much golf changes. Like Johnny Vegas and Jimmy Walker winning early and not doing much the latter of seasons.

Almost as many cuts as top 10s. He played solid but wouldn't make ryder team without the wins.

Agree...we need a fiesty captain with a plan. Nice guys pavin, DL3 and wAtson are losers. I would like to see someone with some edge...not sure who it is.

Damn! Phil just blasted Watson with his comments about why we strayed from the strategy of zinger in 08.

I don't think Vegas has won in the last couple years. Jimmy had a bunch of early wins and some good results later. Obviously things can change, I mean look at Anthony Kim. I just think most of the guys i mentioned are young guys with fire and we need some of that on this team outside of Patrick.

I want Zinger back again. He's been the only real successful captain since Watson in 1993. He had a plan that worked to perfection in 2008. Phil was right in saying what he said.

Players are impossible to predict right now. No one would've even had Reed, Spieth, or Walker on this team right after Medinah.

"We had a great formula in '08," Mickelson said referencing the US win at Valhalla in 2008. "I don’t know why we strayed. I don’t know why we don’t go back. What Zinger did was great."

They asked him if he thought that there was a reason that the euros played as a team better than the us and he said "yes" and had a huge shite-eating grin on his face.

Then they went on to ask him what the us needs to do different, and he basically said that they need to get back tk what zinger did in 2008, and he doesn't understand why they got away from it because it worked.
