I've never been one to just call for the backup qb to start, but....

There is no way Les cannot start Harris this week. The entire offensive playbook is open with this kid at the helm! He can make every throw on the field, appears to be getting better at reading the defense, and the offense just seems to respond differently when he's on the field. Now I'm not one of the chicken little, sky is falling, what do we have to lose type of guy because we still control our own destiny in the SEC West(State will drop at least 2 games), but at this point, Harris is the obvious choice.
The only legit gripe against Harris at this point is no starting experience(which shouldn't matter with Harris's swagger and confidence) and his seemingly inability to throw the ball with touch on it. Would like to see Harris put some air under some passes. Soften up some throws on screens, etc, but as of this point, he's clearly the better QB.
Can't wait to go into Jordan-Hare and beat Auburn's arse!!

My friend who is an Auburn grad keeps asking me if i really want a true freshmen to start his first game on the road in Auburn.
And the answer is always the same, of course, if the other option is a true sophomore who clearly isn't as good.

Jennings starting the game can be an OK decision for the team, if you want to alleviate pressure from Harris and just bring him in a little later. But clearly the right thing right now is for Harris to get the most snaps, one way or another.

Don't bring solid logic to the rant, we live off emotion here!

May not hurt to run AJ out for the first series or two.

Yeah, no matter who starts, I think it's safe to say Harris will get the most snaps on the plains and this has probably already been decided by the coaching staff.

This is such a negative mindset.
What if Harris embraces that pressure? What if the confidence Miles showing in him by naming him the starter propels him to be great? Some people thrive off of pressure.

Right. Starting may be irrelevant.

Throwing Harris out there right off the bat is an easy way to get him rattled.
Do not want.
Recipe for disaster.

Right? Never mind the results even, the logic itself is broken. Both QBs would be making their SEC road game debuts... and I'd wager that at this point the difference in snaps b/t Jennings and Harris isn't very big at this point, anyway, without going back and counting.
And then there's what you said - "experience" is just a factor that contributes to production, if a less experienced QB is producing more yards and points then you clearly should start him.

Yeah, let's bring him in down 21-0. That will be much easier for him.

It's not like it matters. We're going to run the ball 6 times in a row anyway.

Les will start Jennings, we will find ourselves down early, and Harris will come in on the road and everyone will expect him to pull us out the hole. That's asking a lot for a freshman in a hostile environment on the road. And when it doesn't happen, then what? You start Harris and don't put all that pressure on him by putting him in the game when we are behind.

Exactly what is in my mind but even if Jennings has his bearings right again Harris should get as many snaps.

Christ on a cracker you're being a dildo.
Jennings comes out, hands off a few times, makes a run or two, maybe a safe throw on the first series or go deep then play Harris the rest of the way.

what true road game has jennings played in?
he hasn't. both QB's are green in that regard.

I don't get the whole alleviating pressure thing by him not starting
How many drives are we willing to waste with Jennings at QB with no production to alleviate pressure from the guy that can move the ball?
Is 3 3 and outs acceptable to start the game? I'm just wondering here.
You could always alleviate pressure by calling it conservative with Harris starting.

Id bet jordan hare will be louder if they have a 14-0 lead off a couple of 3n outs or a turnover and then we run harris out.
There is no reason for us to put ourselves in a hole early with jennings. The only game Jennings has started the game with anything worth two fricks was sam houston state.

The reason the kid hasn't been starting is because the opposite of this statement is true.
That being said, knowing the plays and not executing them effectively isn't much difference than not knowing them at all.
