Just turned on the pilot. What am I in for here? Is it strong every season or is there a drop off like most dramas? Am I gonna be calling in sick to work to watch or is it not a binge show?

It can be a binge show. There are a few dips here and there, but rarely more than a couple of episodes.

Just don't get attached to people, because most of them are going to get clipped.

It's a family dramedy, grafted brilliantly onto a workplace dramedy, and that workplace is the North Jersey mafia.

I actually think it can be tough to binge at time because ALL of the characters are either despicable or whinny self-righteous punks.

Acting / Music and direction is a bit weak in the first season as everybody gets comfortable in their roles.

Janice Soprano is one of the worst human beings in tv history.

Meh. I think the acting, other than the kids, was solid or better from the beginning.

I recently did a rewatch and there was some bad acting in season one.

As I said, it got better but season one had some odd score/music choices and bad acting. It was noticeable to me in my rewatch. Junior was one of the main offenders.

I recently watched it for the first time. I binge watched and really enjoyed it. I don't recall any drop off, it gets better as it goes imo.

Enjoy

Great show (#2 all time for me), but I wasn't able to binge watch it. Takes a lot out of you and needs to be watched in moderation.

Just started it as well, the first episode was slow for me but after that it's picked up. I already despise the wife and mom.

Jump out when Ted McGinley joins the cast. That's my rule of thumb for TV series.

You will.

Excellent show from start to finish. 1st half of season 6 kinda blows, but it does well setting up for the final half.
