He's dead-fricking right.
It's easy to lose perspective when it is not around you every single day, but the hair-pulling on relatively trivial matters - from both sides - makes one virtually numb to domestic cultural issues. I simply don't give a damn about a lot of this social justice warrior crap.
These people are incredibly violent loons, they are legion, and it just so happens that this Syrian war is the first brutal Islamic war that came along after the popularization of social media.
Radical political Islam is a nasty little virus that needs to be eliminated.

It's really crazy the way we're all hemming and hawing over an NFL team's nickname while our citizens are being BEHEADED both at home and abroad by religious fanatics who are taught to wage jihad against anyone - whiteskin, brownskin, yellowskin, or redskin - who doesn't share their retarded religious beliefs.

Ya the thing that got him in "trouble" was his response that terrorists weren't "cowards" because they are willing to die for their cause, albeit as fricked up as that cause is. Then went on to say that is more brave than some navy guy pushing a button to launch a Tomahawk missile.
I couldn't really disagree with that statement but people blew their lid. That moment and him being a liberal have stuck with him. I do wonder who he talks about more though, Islamic frick heads or the fundamentalist "crazy"* Christians on a daily basis.

The truth is that people do bad things and find an ideology that justifies the bad things that they do. Often that ideology is a religion; it can be nationalism, racism, or any other type of -ism used as a scapegoat for their shameful acts.
The backward American who blames Islam for terrorist attacks is the same guy who says "I'm not homophobic--I just oppose the gay lifestyle because of what the Bible says." Nah, you just don't like gays, and terrorists just don't like people like you. The religious connection isn't the doing of the religion itself; it's the doing of the pussies who can't own up to their own flaws and need to hide behind an ideology to justify why they're scum.
In no way am I comparing being anti-gay to being a terrorist. I would never besmirch the good name of terrorism with such a comparison.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I've never been in lockstep with Maher on the issue of religion, so why would I care what he has to say about Islam? And if you do believe in his religious intelligence, don't you also have to agree with him on Judaism and Christianity? By the way, I also disagree with him on gun control and environmental issues. The only issues where I agree with him are the War of Drugs and Foreign Policy.

Islamic frick heads by at least a 5 to 1 margin. And almost every time he rags on Christians, it's with the caveat that "at least they don't go around beheading people who disagree with them".
