My dear friend and picking buddy, Ernie Craft, passed away today in South Carolina. Ernie really loved to cane pole fish out of one of those South Carolina pirouges(spelling?). He died from the effects of being sprayed with Agent Orange in Vietnam and our government and the Veterans Administration continually refused to acknowledge that Agent Orange caused his illness. Sorry for the rant, but it just hurts so bad to lose such a good man and dear friend this way. Here is the YouTube link featuring Ernie's lead singing if you're interested. Rest In Peace, my friend. Apologies in advance if I shouldn't have posted this here. I just figured yall would understand how I feel right now.

I understand completely, man. Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my best friend almost 10 months ago. There's an empty hole in my soul for that man that time will never heal. I smile now more than tear up on a daily basis thinking of the good times we had, more so than the pain that his loved ones deal with each day.

May your good times with Ernie live on forever. True friendship is extremely hard to come by in today's world.

Sorry to hear that bud. I'm on vacation with both my brothers, their families, their kids and my parents. It's awesome to have all my family together being we all live in different states. Makes me appreciate it even more.

Prayers sent bud and I hope you know that you made me appreciate my time with them even more. Thank you and I hope God finds a way to help you find peace with this.

Yeah, EddieHewitt, Ernie could flat out sing. He was a troubled man, though. Many is the night he bailed out of bed after suffering a nightmare from Nam. He would never tell me the details, though. Had something to do with a foxhole and the VC. You didn't dare shake him in any way if you needed to wake him up from a nap or a night's sleep. He'd kill you before he knew what he was doing.

Teared up watching that video even though I didn't know him nor you. Had a good family friend in that war. He flew medi - vacs and loved it. An absolute amazing man just as your friend.

Very sorry for your loss. I also lost my dad from the effects of agent orange and the Vietnam war. It still hurts today and will be with forever. Just remember the good times with your friend and try to honor his memory.

Thanks, OG. Ernie's name should also be on the wall there in Washington, D.C., but it never will be.
