Spinoff: Conspiracy Theories as it relates to Politics
Posted by NikolaiJakov on 9/26/14 at 11:44 am01
It occurred to me recently that most of the time, if you're hearing a conspiracy theory, you're talking to a poltical leftist.
I used to be a serious Kennedy Assassination buff, and I was convinced of a CIA/Mob conspiracy. If a book or video didn't present an alternative to the Warren Commission, I didn't consider them credible. Then one day, I heard somebody say "left wingers advance conspiracy theories because they refuse to believe one of their own (self-proclaimed Marxist Oswald) would kill Kennedy. It HAD to be someone with right-wing connections (their political enemies)". After hearing that, I started looking at the assassination with an open mind, and am now persuaded that Oswald did act alone, and that the facts point no where else.
Then consider Zeitgeist and documentaries like it that spin all kind of conspiracy theories that are easily debunked.
Are leftists just naturally skeptical of factual evidence?
TL:DR - Oswald killed Kennedy, 9/11 wasn't an inside job, and George W Bush isn't the devil.

See OKC and Sandy Hook for the other side of them.
Alex Jones is very right wing and I haven't followed zeitgest, but I thought that movement tends to be libertarian. Not to mention all the Paul-ites out there always preaching about the banking cartel, CFR/Bilderberg and whatnot.

This is incorrect.
The funny thing about the Kennedy assassination is that there very much was a Soviet conspiracy about it.
Not to kill him mind you. At first they were worried that the West would think they were responsible for Oswald. But then the Soviets realized what a great opportunity this was. So they poured money into helping the conspiracy theory buffs get books published and airtime because they thought it would damage American public morale.
They will even shrug and admit it now. Who can blame them? It was a great propaganda coup.

Conspiracy theories, as far as I can tell, tend to be much more the domain of a fringe on the right, and that's a serious problem.
If you're on the same side that, rightly, is seen as a bit loony where 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Sandy Hook, Barack Obama's birth certificate and others are concerned, when you bring up something legitimately disconcerting like the IRS scandal, almost no one is going to take you seriously.
This is why the left in the United States is one of the most impressive political machines in history. If you do just enough to remind people of the crazy right wing conspiracy theories, when you mention the credible ones, no one will care. They're insanely good at what they do, and the right has been playing catch up in the political and public opinion arena since Reagan left office.

Coup: a brilliantly executed strategy. In this case the Soviets using Kennedy's death to spread mistrust of the American government by using conspiracy buffs to undermine public support.

Well that's gonna derail this thread pretty quick.

It's perfectly acceptable to believe in a JFK conspiracy. He was involved in some shady shite, as was the CIA. A lot of factors in play there. I'm still not sure what I believe.
If you believe that Sandy Hook was a hoax, you seriously need to jump off a bridge. No one that stupid needs to be breathing the same air as the rest of us. Every moment someone like that is out there driving on the same highways as us is a threat to the rest of civil, non-retarded society.

If you want to hear non-political conspiracy theories tune in Coast-to-Coast in the early morning on weekends.
IE, ...This message board does not actually exist. When you were 6 years old you had a tiny alien transmitter planted into your brain. It was activated in March of 2014 compelling you to join this board (which really does not exist).
Your body is being used as an energy source for cosmic beings in another dimension. Except that your body doesn't really exist. You just think it does. Your 'being' is simply composed of 'anti-energy' so that you cannot tell who is controlling you.

The conspiracy to undermine conspiracy theories is real. Cannot say more - oath of secrecy...

Oswald killed him all by himself, but I think it is a possibility that the mob was supposed to usher him out of town, but when he got caught they got Ruby to silence him, OR ELSE. If they had ushered him out of town the mob still would have killed him.
That is IF the mob was involvedm Ruby killing him makes it look like the mob was involved in some capacity. And Oswald did say he was a patsy.
But Oswald did kill him, or soneone from the window did a masterpiece of a frame job, I think the former.

.....including documents from the FBI, CIA, CDC, and NOPD, plus the actual crime scene photos of the Mary Sherman murder. You’ll see why we say this is the “Hottest cold case in America.” The 1964 murder of a nationally known cancer researcher sets the stage for this gripping exposé of medical professionals enmeshed in covert government operations over the course of three decades. Following a trail of police records, FBI files, cancer statistics, and medical journals, this revealing book presents evidence of a web of medical secret-keeping that began with the handling of evidence in the JFK assassination and continued apace, sweeping doctors into cover-ups of cancer outbreaks, contaminated polio vaccine, the arrival of the AIDS virus, and biological weapon research using infected monkeys.

I blame our Reptillian Overlords for killing Kennedy. And the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association of course.
Though... they could be one and the same!
