Get to the spot. Raise antenna. Feels light. Go look and see nothing but the arm and a wire leading to nothing. Best guess is that someone's live oak branches ripped the top off.

What are my options? The camper will be where it's at for 1 month. Can I somehow just attach a Radio Shak antenna up there until I can get a better fix? I have no idea what that wire ends in.

What kind of antennae wire? You should be able to get one from radio shack and install it. Take a pic of the end of the wire and I can tell you what you may need as far as re-attaching the wire to the new antennae

eta-taking the youngest to the hunting/fishing day thing in woodworth. I can stop by and help if you need

Doing some research, it's going to be coax. That's not something I can repair if it's cut. I will probably buy some RG6 incase I can run new cable.

Antenna for the TV?

If so, go get the one at Radio Shack that has the circle and two rabbit ears. Works pretty well and is cheap. Screw that into the back of the TV like normal.

You can also get a longer cable from Radio Shack to put it on your roof, but idk if that'll frick with the swr like it does on a CB.

CP3 would probably be the guy to ask about that with his EE deal

Just bought a tool with about 4 fittings at lowes and I only need one. You can get it all for about $10 at lowes or you are welcome to mine also. I might be out that way this evening if you want me to bring it.

Sounds like CENLA only needs a broken antenna to start a OBGT...

Decided I'll head to CENLA and see if they carry the Wingearts. I'll probably get some extra cable. I'd like to change mine out if it's not too difficult. No idea what length of cable to get though.

I doubt it takes much but it shouldnt be bad to pull with the old wire still there.

ETA: I've got the connection in the living room, kids room, and two outside so I hope mine never needs changing

CENLA had a new antenna. I picked up 25' of RG6. Now to see what remains of the arms and connectors. Hope to snake the new cable while doing this.

Got up on roof with new stuff. became frightened of the possible disasters of running new cable. I cut the end off the old and after 2 tries, got a good length of coax to attach new end. had no tools, so I tried to use twist ones. Well, those are obviously made for thicker cable. FIL had some kind of crimping tool, and this actually worked.

Went in and ran channel scan. I got as many or more channels than ever before. Even got the Lafayette ABC station.
