Although it's usually mop up or like last week, every time he gets in the game he makes plays.

His bio has him at 6'1" 255. He looks really quick off the ball and difficult to block. I'd like to see him side by side with Godchaux. He's not your prototypical weight but our big guys (Thomas & Lacouture) are getting pushed around.

Perhaps quicker more athletic tackles is the answer for now. I watched a replay of last game and our tackles (Thomas & Lacouture) got knocked off the line easily.

Why not give Neal his shot?

Well other teams will just "scheme" to knock him off the ball too. You see, it's about identifying a weakness and exploiting it.
What we should have done from the first offensive play against Miss St.

With QT out, I think it'sa given we see more Neal. Especially since our trio of redshirt freshmen is MIA.

Dont care about his size. Neal is 1 of the strongest players on our team and is explosive and disruptive.

He was a DE, but we kicked him inside because he is strong enough to play inside.

We will see more of him.

I agree. The DL looked more disruptive when he was in.

I know Lewis personally. What makes him hard to block and move off of the ball, is he is one of if not the strongest players on the team. He also has almost a 7 foot wingspan, meaning super long arms. He is also very violent with his hands. You can see him in a few of the big cat drills against our first team linemen, and it is a stalemate!!! He also is not a redshirt freshman. He lettered last year and is a true sophomore.

I would have played him much earlier last week, but that's just me. Our starting DT's were ineffective.

He was in the backfield to 1st hit the RB when we made the stop on 4th & 1 at about the 3:45 mark.

Unfortunately, I have yet to see one of our starting tackles do what he did. Granted, it was late in the game, but give him the opportunity early in the game, I don't think he'll disappoint.

Pleas play him I honestly don't think Lacoture and QT are just rotational players. I don't see what makes them so good and I think CL is overrated

How do you know that?

Watch the video from last week of our starting tackles. They're plenty big enough.

CL is the most consistent player on our defense right now.

I saw him play last week and before last week. He looks like a munchkin out there.

No way he is 6'1". He is more like 5'10". And the comment about a seven foot wingspan is hilarious.

If Neal is our answer at DT we still don't have an answer. Nothing against him. He is a hard worker and great guy, I'm sure. But if we are at the place at LSU where we are looking to a guy who is not even 6'0" and 250 lbs soaking wet to fix a problem at DT...well, I don't know what to say.

Locoture is a pretty good DT as is Godcheax, but we do need Neal in the rotation more. To bad Bain, Gilmore, and Herron aren't good enough to get into the rotation also. Herron is really a mystery to me. Was a 5 star recruit and was supposedly having a great fall camp. Wonder what happened with him?

The only answer right now is that we whiffed on Gilmore, Herron, and Bain. Its still hard to believe that we were so badly wrong. I'm all for getting Neal some more time at DE. I don't see how it can hurt.

Yeah it's crazy. I know we've lost a lot to the draft over the last few years but damn. How have we not recruited any bigger guys at DT or at least gotten these guys bulked up some more. I can't believe how quickly we've become undersized at that position. I really wish Valentine would've gotten cleared out of shape or not. His size alone would've been a big help there.

Yeah having wiffed on Bain, Herron, and Gilmore, we really needed Valentine to be here. Probably wouldn't have been a big help for this season, but we do need him for the future. I'm not giving up on those three guys though. Plenty of time for them to still develop. Just won't be a help this season though.
