Who is else is ready to destroy some bushy tails?

Reports are strong in Saline that the Fox population is healthy. We gonna cull that right quick.

Where you going?

When town clears out, it must be squirrel day

I'm not mad at 'em.

But I am mad at my liver and my funny bone, which will be greatly tested next weekend.

Best family weekend of the year, IMHO.

Hopefully the weather will be cooler than last year and less mosquitoes.

I normally go to Saline every year for opening weekend, but this year, I'm taking my talents to Indian Bayou. Takin a few of my podnas to shoot some big fox and black zeeks in the Henderson swamp.
Hope the wind lays down and the temps are fresh

Going with a buddy just south of intracoastal canal in hwy 35 off pine island road. We used to hunt them religiously in north La before deer season, but now with the long season due to bow and primitive arms, we rarely hunt squirrels.

Squirrelpocalypse 2014 will be epic.

I wish I had a good squirrel dog. I grew up hunting them that way as a kid but my son is going to miss out on that.

Now that I am old, it isn't the same as when I was in my 20's. I can't see em like I used to and the heat wears me out a little faster than it used to.
If they show themselves between the backdoor and the boathouse, that's their arse.
Otherwise, I'm bass fishin.

All you hunters wear em out.

What is the general consensus on the best squirrel gun? I have a son who will be 7 next year, and I am going squirrel hunting this year for the first time - I was thinking a 20g so he could have something to start shooting next year...what say the OB - I don't have any 22 caliber guns...

I started with a .22. Of course, you have to find a squirrel that will just sit there and let a kid plink it at until it is hit. Dad always gave me the first shot if the squirrel was still, then if it ran, he would shoot it with his shotgun.
