A mother in Decatur, Ala., says her prayers were answered when, after years of trying, she had a baby boy nearly two years ago. But tragedy struck when Brayden King was left in the care of his teen sister at church on Friday: She lost track of him for a short while, and he was found dead in 33 inches of water in the church's baptismal tank, reports Reuters. Brayden was 22 months old.

Can you imagine the pain, grief, and guilt this poor girl is going to have to live with the rest of her life? Damn, that's just sad.

Heart breaking.
Not a good thread to start for this particular op. Makes you look petty.

They should sue the church for having such a hazardous attractive nuisance like a baptismal tank.

You can't have a history of overt mockery of religion with literally every single one of your posts related to religion, and not expect some to suspect assholery here. Sorry.

Why was the teenager put in charge of this kid in the first place? She's obviously some kind of moron.

Aren't most babysitters teen girls?

Why does the church need a death trap to initiate members?

So if You have a pool in you backyard, and a neighbor child falls in it and drowns, you are not liable?

Wow, I wanted to make a joke but had the decency and common sense to keep my mouth shut. But you sir...... I'm not supporting or condoning but I do admire your not-give-a-frickitude.

Come on Lucas. You're always good for a joke. Give it a try.

Saw the news last night. Apparently the sister is getting called and taking alot of heat from people.. I hope she stays strong. Sad story all around.

You sure about that? Because I don't think that is true.

It's not a joke, I'm being dead serious here.
Is the church liable?
Nobody wants to sit here and have a palaver about the sadness of child death -- everybody thinks it's sad and it has nothing to do with religion.
