I don't like Eric Holder for a variety of reasons, top on the list is prosecuting cannabis growers despite promises not to. Why promise not to then do it?

But that is just one along a pretty long list of grievances.

Then I think - when did the US have an AG that I thought i did a good job?

I was out of the country for a large chunk of Mike Mularsky's tenure and didn't pay attention.

But Gonzales, Ashcroft and Reno all sucked big time.

And I didn't really pay attention before then.

Is this a job that is just impossible to do, or have we just been stuck with quite a few turds in a row?

Mukasey was pretty good, I think. Being a good AG is like being a good cornerback - no one should really ever hear your name during the game.

Mukasey, then back to Thornburgh and Barr.

Holder is the worst since Mitchell though.

are you defending that song? Seriously.

Other gripes would include allowing torture and support of patriot act, not to mention his actions against pornography.

What are the odds the next AG is worse than Holder?

I have no faith in Barry.

I've got no problem with torture of Muslims terrorists.

Porn still exists.

Wanta try again? Ashcroft was a good AG.

Perhaps you've heard of Gen West. He found out that there was a plot against his life. He tortured a Muslim and found out the info to foil the plot. Gen. West was discharged from the military and then backlash of his story got him catapulted into political office.

I have no problem with torture when the enemy uses torture as their main strategy.

the problem with this is the torture was not limited to muslims, it could be used on anyone thought to be an enemy of the gov't. or a terrorist.

ashcroft was a strong supporter of the patriot act. And also a strong proponent of searching without a warrant. though he did shoot down stellar winds. But still a tPOS if you ask me.

He was as tone deaf to religion as Holder is to race.

Did Ashcroft go after political opponents like Holder did? You are engaging in something called false equivalence. IE, I ran a red light so I am a criminal. Hitler killed 6 million Jews so he is a criminal. Therefore, I am Hitler.

Both holder and ashcroft can suck, its not mutually exclusive.

this was not the question, the question was when was the last time we had a good AG.

Not the time we had an AG better than Holder.

Dementia is a real issue, have you had a screening? I would recommend long term care insurance first though.

Ashcroft was good by me but a little weird about covering up the naked statues.

Super solid on 2nd amendment.

the AG shouldn't really get involved in 2nd amendment issues if you ask me, only if congress where to restrict rights to guns which considering that most of ashcroft was under republican congressional leadership was unlikely.

but yes, the statue covering up was a tad odd.
