IPOs, carve outs, financial due diligence, spin offs, etc.

Got an email on LinkedIn about a possible work opportunity. Wanna see what other people's experience is like. Thanks MT.

The son of one of my former partners did this for JP Morgan in New York.

He would sit around for weeks with nothing to do, and then would work 110 hour weeks for a month, and then back to nothing to do for a while. However, that ramp up would come with sometimes only a few hours notice. He would go from working from 9-3 every day, to getting an e-mail at 2:30 pm telling him he had to catch a flight at 7 pm that night, and would be gone two weeks.

He did it for about 4 years, loved it, made crazy bank, and was single. Moved back to Houston and now works for a Fortune 500 company internally reviewing M&A opportunities.

I do some of that, I love it. Fast paced, lost of moving parts.

Based on what you called it, I'm going to guess KPMG is the firm that contacted you.

EY TAS, KPMG TS, I think Deloitte just falls under consulting, and Pwc I'm not sure.
