Need the OT's help.
I am looking for a good home for this dog. She is approximately an 8 month old black lab mix, house trained, extremely sweet and friendly, spayed, good around kids and my other dog.

I found her on the levee in Henderson, LA on Sunday and she jumped right in my truck when I went to check her out. She was microchipped so I was able to track down the owner who didn't want her back. The chip was placed by APaws rescue in BR and possible the owner didn't know it was there. I live in Lafayette as well as the previous owner so she was a long way from home.

Anyway - this dog is genuinely the sweetest dog ever and needs a good home. And I am asking for the OT's help in finding her one. If interested we can exchange emails or phone #'s

***Update*** 9/29
Just wanted to report back that we have a great home for Lucy. It was very hard to give her up after a week, but shes going to a good home. It didn't end up being an OT'er that got her, but appreciate the help anyway!

Man that is a cute pup. I wish I had the time/space/money for a dog.

Awesome looking dog. She looks so sweet.

Good luck finding her a home. I have a hard time thinking no one wants such a great looking young pup.

no shite
that makes my blood boil

my wife found a little terrier mix on coursey blvd in BR a few years ago, eating out of a dumpster. she brought him to the vet, he was chipped, called the owner, who denied having a dog and then hung up on her. same thing when the vet called him...

he's part of our family now, but goddamn that pissed me off

I completely agree...I will never know for sure, but this seems like a case of the dog got out of HER apt and she probably saw it as an opportunity to not deal with the dog anymore. But someone brought him and dropped him off at 50 miles from his house...so that's the million dollar question

Such a sweet looking dog.

Post it on Facebook, and post it to ARNO and other animal rescue sites.

Damn, what a lovely pup! I've already got 2, plus I lace 800 miles away. Otherwise … well, whoever gets her is one lucky pet owner.

How could someone look at that dog and just leave it on the side of the road.

Contact APaws rescue in BR and let them know you found a dog that was chipped by them.

I bet the guy who's dogs woke up his neighbors at 5:40 am would love to add this dog to his collection.

The chip actually had APaws info on it so that was my first call. They followed up with the girl and found out she didn't want the dog back.
APaws was going to try to and find a foster for her, but we decided that we will foster her until we find a home. We can't keep her long term but as sweet as she is we didn't mind holding on to her while she finds a home.

We wouldn't have a problem with fostering her at my house. If you're interested in that idea let me know.
