'06 - we seemed to go to a pass first after we lost to UF.
'12 - starting Jeremy Hill after about the 4th game

Others?

This was probably it. Compare the Auburn game to the Notre Dame blowout. It was a completely different team.

Was it 2009 when we had the clock debacle at Ole Miss then had a similar situation when playing Arkansas?

That adjustment made gets my vote since it worked in bearing the Hogs.

No clock issues vs Arky in '09 (less maybe Ridley not getting OOB - I never saw the replay). There was the sweet sounding dork off the goal posts from the Arky PK.

Rotflmao. I remember that well especially at the Arizona state game in 05.

2005 Tennessee. Not calling a hasty, emergency timeout immediately following an interception.

Miles' teams improve nearly every year, outside of 2008 and surprisingly 2007.

2005-Played it's best ball in early November against Alabama and OM before the 10 straight weeks had us running on fumes against Ark and UGA. Peach Bowl showed how far that team had come from ASU/TENN.

2006- Clearly improved. Was probably the best team in the country at the end of the year.

2007- Surprisingly didn't improve. Dominated MSU and VTech. The epic UF battle took a lot out of the tank, and the OT games plus Auburn and Bama were wild. D regressed and team was spent by Ark. OSU saw what that team was at full strength.

2008- Clearly regressed on both sides of ball. OM was a low point. Bowl game showed some life.

2009- Mostly improved. Played Florida and Bama tough and crushed Auburn, only to have the OM meltdown. Bounced back the next week against Ark. Tough bowl game was a setback in Miles' first bowl loss.

2010- Huge improvement. Best of Miles' tenure. After sluggish start and UT fiasco, Florida and Bama were milestone wins when many believed Miles would never beat Saban or Meyer again. Road loss to Ark in Sugar Bowl play in game was tough but blowout of A&M in Cotton showed how far that team had come

2011- Clearly improved until 1/9. D/ST and run game were unstoppable by SECCG, and had best passing game against #3 Ark. Beat one of the best teams of BCS era on the road in November. 13-0 SEC Champs with only one game decided by less than 13 points before long layoff and Rematch. Easily best regular season in LSU history.

2012- Clearly improved. After Rematch hangover against Auburn, UF, and nearly Towson, beating #3 South Carolina, @A&M, and nearly beating Bama were great efforts by Miles and staff. Disappointing bowl game with D focused on NFL against top 10 team unfairly tarnished what was a big year waking up the offense as the year went on.

2013- Kind of stayed level, but probably closer to regressing. TCU win was great, nearly pulled off huge win @UGA, then OM was frustrating and Bama outclassed us, actually a rarity in the series. A&M was a big win, but then regressed again with Ark and Iowa.

2014- Feeling big improvement coming, mostly because there isn't much lower we can go.......hopefully

But negating that switch by never completely switching JLee back to starter role after Bama, and instead playing mostly JJ to the end, culminating in the 1/9 disaster of a game/game plan - JJ doing nothing on the field, JLee and ZMett doing nothing on the bench.

2014 - Knowing that Miles is one year closer to retirement and LSU is one year closer to maybe hiring a coach who can produce a winning team.

I hate this excuse. the D played hard, Clemson just made timely some plays. Boyd was a good college QB, Hopkins a good WR on whatever level, and they had some talent on both sides of the ball. not to mention they ran 100 plays, our "woken-up" offense only got off like 50-55. with all that, the D bent but never really broke.

I forgot exactly what year it was, but starting a true freshman, Keiland Williams, in the middle of the season after Justin Vincent and Alley Broussard were ineffective was a solid adjustment. Relying on Broussard and Vincent costed us the game that year at Auburn (The Doucet non-pass interference game). That team was talented enough to win the national title.
