Crabs running in the surf in MS?

Headed biloxi way this weekend with a beach house rented. Mainly going to relax, but thought I'd try out crabbing while hanging out.

I haven't seen anyone with the scoop net catching crabs in the 'surf', but I haven't driven down to Biloxi. Beach house in Biloxi, huh.

Ocean Springs actually. Very nice place, just darker water than florida.

Ocean Springs makes sense. Yea, I live in Bay St Louis...drive through if you get a chance. Neat little shops and restaurants like OS.

Went around BSL last week. Not a crab anywhere. Tried several spots. Hope it was a fluke.

Seen a few crabs in OS earlier this week.... Heard of bunches of shrimp being caught with cast net near GPE area

What is GPE Hotgin? EDIT; just found Gulf Park Estates. We'll be staying on Belle Fontaine. Is there somewhere we can go with a castnet for shrimp without a boat? We're planning to bring a castnet.
