Dog chewing issue

I occasionally leave my belgian mal in my room and whenever I come back that son of a bitch has chewed up something. Lately it was one of my dress lace up florsheims. It's getting close to the last straw. How do you get them to stop.
I'm pretty sure it's caused by separation anxiety. I locked her inside and watched her through the window and she immediately ran in my room and grabbed a pair of socks and brought them in the den to chew.
If not I guess I need to buy her a ton of chew toys. She is 5 to 6 months old.

crate it

Do you exercise the dog? When my lab was a puppy, we got it tons of toys and made sure he was exercised every day. Either walking or fetching. If the puppy is full of energy and has nothing to play with...your shite gets destroyed.
And yes, crate training is a must. Keep her locked up when you leave.

Crate that bitch...and buy her more toys than you think she could ever use. Like 15 of them. You got at least another 1 of it too.

for the love of God, this!!!
5-6 month old pup is gonna chew regardless of what is going on. Put the poor thing in a crate and quit setting it up for failure.
in the event you fail to do this, let me know when you are ready to get rid of her and I'll adopt her/him. Love me a GS.

Get the BBK- Big Black Kong, fill it with peanut butter and freeze it over night. That will keep her occupied. Also, bully sticks are good and digest easily, unlike rawhide.

Did the doggy therapist tell you that.
Dogs fricking chew man, it's not because they have anxiety. Just crate the damn thing

This is what puppies do. Buy her a shite ton of toys to play with and put her in a crate when you leave.
Good luck!

She's a puppy. She will eventually grow out of it, but it's a bitch in the meantime.
You have to get in the habit of not leaving shite around.
I don't have the issue anymore (dog is 4), but I was so in the habit when she was a puppy that I would take off my shoes and put them on the desk in hotel rooms. Then I realized I was in a hotel, and I could kick them off on the floor

Good looking dog
Make sure it's big enough for her. Some dogs even take to their crates. It's becomes sort of their personal den and they'll even sleep in it at night.
Good luck.

I do crate her while I'm at work and keep her in the back yard while im gone but when it rains it is too hot I have to keep her inside. If she's in the crate while my roommates are there she whines.

I usually take my dog riding everywhere,I can't even say the word unless i'm going to take him, if I don't he will chew anything he can.
That's the only time he will. Weird.

I have a wild idea...don't leave things of value where the dog can get to them.

why would you get a puppy, a german shephard no less, with roommates?
this sounds like some shitty planning here

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Crate and toys. GSD's want to be with their owners and need a job. Take her with you everywhere you can, she needs socialization. If you wanted a dog to leave around the house all day you should have gone with something else.
BTW, you have a beautiful shepherd and if I didn't have 3 already I'd offer to adopt her if it comes to that.

I have had German shepherds before and none of them had issues like this one.

Crate train her. Give her lots of chew toys when she's in there. It's good to have little projects in there.
Adorable puppy, BTW.
They seem to like enclosed spaces so don't put the crate in the middle of a room. Noisy appliances sometimes scare them as well.
